Yesterday i received my Tanix TX5 pro and after successfully updated firmware and tested this custom ROM
I made some attempt to enable auto frame rate switching in kodi or spmc.

For testing it is necessary to change permissions of

/sys/class/display/mode

to 666

(this will not be permanent, after first complete power cycle it will be reverted back to 644)

for permanent change it is necessary to modify come init.rc in boot.PARTITION

After changing settings in kodi or spmc, frame rate was successfully changed during the playback
but on return to kodi on my TV TOSHIBA 55L7463DG sometimes there is message displayed - no video signal.-
It is necessary to press power button on remote of TX5 tree times to get kodi /spmc interface.

Perhaps on some other TV this works normally..

There is a setting in android settings to turn on automatic frame rate switching...can you test and give feedback. I think it is called playback settings.

If we are going to look at fixing the auto refresh rate, audiopassthrough in KODI / SPMC would be a nice one to have a go as as well... ;-)

I was having a look into this you beat me to it, this should be a fairly easy one to fix next time one of the guys compiles this rom, just an addition into one of the init.rc scripts...

In the mean time you can always run a script to set this at boot using universal.init from the play store (If you have root)

It is is android settings. I toggled and box still turns off completely.

I thought you was asking if changing that setting had any effect on my remote problem which it did not. But I can confirm that I can not get it to go to standby by changing that setting.

With the MINIM8SII stock firmware and Kodi / SPMC this option does not seem to do anything, the refresh rate of my TV stays at the same rate (50Hz).

Also on the remote not powering on with the new remote,conf problem. I have read elsewhere that that function is hard coded and will not be able to be changed.

I will see if I can get this done tonight, stupid question, do I need to test on the modded ROM or can I test on the stock MINIM8SII ? If I need to flash I'm probably not going to be able to look until next week, I'm going to be away until Sunday night....

HDMI handshake, resulting in "null edid" in /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap

My MXiii with KitKat that I got AGES ago had the issue with /sys/class/display/mode, you would have thought this would have been fix by now

Yes test with this software. Otherwise useless info... Please test with latest FTMC that way we can report back any issues. .Marshmellow have sdk issues still more so on rochchip 3368 then these so far. 😃

Cool I had missed FTMC, I'll have a look Yea I guess it took a while to sort the issues with Lollipop, we are early adopters

No problem double checked wifi with blues and it makes différence with the finger but even more proof was let kodi addon download 700 meg file let it go till it was stable feed then grabbed it at wifi tape shot up 3 times speed tested it 5 times to be sure so know some others have same issue. Ill do mod and pist in another thread.

Also a favor to make sure it is not me...can someone test tx5 pro firmware below..It might just be a fluke but i think wifi was better with this one. This is the original firmware with issues. But i think wifi was better
