    Two things...

One: The OTA Updater is crap (Full stop!). Perhaps this will be the One Device that eventually get me to change my mind. In as far as it actually has a working address to pull Updates from. Everything upto now had always ended in a check your OTA Provider Cert (or something to that effect). Upshot it never worked ever.

Two:. And this is more directly related to the YokaTV KB2 STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THE (20160929), Update it's known to break both the WiFi, and Bluetooth. And that's about all it does as I can see. If your looking for a fix to why XBMC/Kodi/SPMC/etc... Keeps dropping your butt back to the Home Screen. Then sadly again this Update will NOT help you! If your unlucky you'll just end up with a Box that is only usable through Ethernet.

Really if you are running an older Firmware then 20160929... Where your WiFi, and Bluetooth are otherwise working well. I would knock on Wood that haven't gotten hit yet.

Mores the pitty that the original Stock Firmware for this Box will probably never turn up.
Hopefully we'll not have to wait long for the next one. Hopefully then the issues with the WiFi, and Bluetooth will be fixed again.

Both 2.4, and 5GHz? Perhaps I just got unlucky again. As it is 5Ghz does NOT work for me, and 2.4GHz goes up, and down on me like more often than a cheap Hooker.

I've just started using the i25 Rii remote with this box. One thing that annoys me is that I can't power the box on with the remote. I can turn it off but not on. Is there a fix for this, or is this just normal?

Unfortunately, yes... The there are Two distinct remote.conf Files, you might have found the One. (Or, perhaps not)...
But, the second one is tucked up tight inside the boot.img and is not as simple to get to. But if you were... Then it wouldn't be much of a chore to edit the correct remote code to send the power up command.

So the best option would be to teach the Power-up command to the new remote.

Ok so lucky me I was able to stumble across an older Firmware from, last August. https://mega.nz/#F!KcM1BTIB!XOAF3SgG1mo-Dfqbmy-GMQ

The good news... (Well partially), was I was able to force install this via the Three File (SDCard) trick, and I was then able to finally pull the current 20161007 Update. Alas the WiFi is still as flake as it whoever was. So I'm starting to suspect it's another Hardware dud. I've tried changing channels (36, 40, 44 etc), but this Box does not want to use 5GHz period.

I think I'm gonna send it back, and look for something with a Rockchip in it instead.

I tried to teach the remote by i/r and didn't have much luck. As for changing commands that's probably not good for me being a novice. Thanks

                        @Ichijoe

Does the Antenna spin freely(loose) on the Yoka.
I noticed he Nut on the antenna was hard against the mount. to me that indicates the centre pin may not fully seated. (long shot)
I removed the thinnest washed only on box connection, had two.

Antenna is installed and firm a slight gap is seen between antenna nut and chassis mount nut.

Also what Router are you using,
Have your tried Freq 155 or 161 on 5ghz if its in your plan

I'm located in Germany, and I'm using a Fritzbox (Ch's 36 ~ 128), and some of those are locked down for Radar use. 🙁
I've always been able to see my 5GHz SSID on that Box... Connecting to it though has proven more challenging though.
I might take a closer look at the Antenna latter. As far as I've also had drop outs on 2.4GHz. But I'm confident that's not the issue here.

I was kinda hoping for a software bug that could be fixed... But, with more People saying that 5G's working for them, then I'll have to start, and wonder.
Unfortunately for me I've already been burned once already with this Box. The first one never lasted 10 Minutes of me just surfing the 'net. (I was looking to replace the crappy Launcher).
Before the Box froze up, for what was it's last time. one yank of the cord latter. The Box would turn blue (as it does...), But that was all it did. Not even the Tosslink was lit anymore.
The Box was quit dead. Now about a month latter this replacement finally came. But this time its the WIFI that busted. Or so it seems, Lord knows I've tried everything I could think of, to get it going.

Even Bad solder on the PCB is possible

This firmware you speak is that actual date 20161007 I thought 20160929 was the latest..?

Normally the say third time lucky, Hmm unsure in your case
                            Hope it get sorted

Just updated my second box (other room) by OTA method. All went well. Followed the OTA instructions given on this thread.
