I dont understand that you turned off wifi but cant get it back? In settings you can turn it back on mac address not sticking on each boot may be a issue i can look into. I did see another fix for that on freaktab. But first check router set to anything but stock channels like 6 and cgange to 11 or 12 see if that makes a difference first ill look for the other posts.

Fr1tz if you are a total noob, which from your posts you are, PLEASE DO NOT USE SCOOTER'S FIRMWARE. If you screw things up, or want to change firmware, you will need to take your box apart and manually short pins on the NAND in order to reflash a new firmware on the box. Please use Kevin's or stay with stock.

I recently bought a docooler r39x box for what I thought was a steal at the time. I put scooter2014's firmware on it right away.
I just wanted to thank everyone and especially scooter2014 for working on this device and making it more useful.
It was my first android box and I didn't realize what pratfalls it had. It's very useful now and I'm happy to have it.
If anyone is new to the device here's a few things that I have learned. It has 1GB of RAM but the GPU probably gets 256 MB allocated to it, so it's not a bad idea to install some kind of boot manager to prevent too many bloated programs from loading at startup if you add extra programs. The device can slow to a crawl and I assume it's due to running out of RAM. I'm not sure how good the built in memory management is. You can barely do just about everything you need to with the bar remote, but it is probably most useful to get one of the Wifi controllers with the built in trackpad and keyboard. You can use a USB mouse and USB keyboard but it's not quite to the functionality you would get on a normal desktop. I have yet to be able to get the T9 keys on the bar remote do anything other than numbers. If you get a cheaper device without bluetooth built-in, you're probably not going to be able to use a bluetooth dongle, so buy accordingly. Flash and SD cards can be added to the device and formatted to be used as internal storage, but the data put on those devices will remain proprietary to that device.
I am an Amazon Prime member, and their instant video only plays back in SD. I imagine Netflix is the same. Youtube will play back in 1080p. I've read that this is a DRM issue.
You can use the android app Smart Iremote by fustec to control the device pretty well. You may have to turn on remote in the settings of the android box. You need to manually put in the local IP address of your android box into the program. Exit the program. Go back to the program and it should work. If you're not sure of your IP address, and it really depends on your router, you can just install a "what's my ip?" app.
On the Antutu Video Tester app it got 698 and a score of 5/5. Everything seem to play great and passed all the tests. I'm not 100% sure AC3 sound played because I had my volume down pretty low and don't use that in my backups usually anyway.
In Plex I had some media that played back in incorrect aspect ratio and I fixed that by using the Android player for video playback in the Plex settings on the device.
The google play store will continue to ask you to agree to terms and conditions every time it relaunches, but that is much better than having to continually un-update the store. This would happen on the default firmware even if you were able to sneak in and turn off auto-updates.
The device is advertised as a 8GB device, but they actual storage you can use a user is much lower than that.
Regards to everyone for their input and work on this device to make it a little more well rounded.

My experience with this rom and the bugs + antutu score:
Flashed with usb tools, everything worked fine. after the successfull flash i had to reboot at least 3 times (unplug/plug DC) to pass the 'loading screen" (seems normal)
the third boot seems very long and freezed on the loading logo but in fact it is not - just wait
then i installed updates (not with wifi but rj45) and everything worked fine after the factory restart.
i installed aptoide apk, no problem.
i don't use kodi but SPMC and everything is smooth. wifi working. can't find how to arrange that big kodi logo and replace it or re-arrange the menu.
Antatu score : 32900 (stock rom : 21800) !!!
The box is ultra smooth, you can really surf smoothly with the browser, no freezes, no lag. a real pleasure. clearly the box is like +50% performance compared to stock ROM
I had no problem with overheating before the new ROM so i can't compare now.
Unfortunately the led light is RED when the box is turned on (blue when off) and the remote control is not working when i want to turn on the box. i can shut-off the box with the remote but not turn it on.
It's sad cuz it makes the rom unusable.
Some tips if you want to flash the box with amlogic usb tools:
1 - you need a real A to A usb cable. if you use Y usb cable + A to A it will not work ( ex this cable will not work : http://www.hdsentinel.com/img/cases/usb-y-cable.gif).
2 - install usb burn tool first +driver with the box not connected. Then connect the box WITHOUT the DC plugged in, only with usb. Your computer will continue to intall
driver and recognize the box.
3- unplugg the box, start the usb tool, import the image of ur rom, click on start and connect your box with USB (don't use DC power just USB). it's done you're flashing ur box. Because your box is probably overheating like many box you need to change the temp to 20-99 instead of 20-40 - see options)
4- unplug the box and click on stop.
5 - plug dc and start your box. enjoy
awesome job

Thats part of the issues with this box as any other software bricks it from usb burn tool (cant be seen without pin reset) Try the one i sent you pm and see if it flashes ok. Developer trying to help us out so testers needed because both mine been flashed so many times dont trust results. I try another way this week as well and see if that route keeps loader seen in flash tool. Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.
