Hi all,

Flashed this firmware on my Z4....it rocks...thanks even though it was not made for my device...So far the only thing that happens is on occasion the screen would turn black and will not come on even with mouse movement...I have to reboot....all settings are checked to keep display on always..using a 5v 4a power supply...and a screen always on app...still...anyone else experiencing this?

maybe a little to much Power , what about 5V/3000mah Powersupply ???

Can anyone recommend an alternative launcher? I have Nova launcher, but it's not meant for a box like the Zidoo X6 Pro. Zidoo's own launcher (Lollipop based) is good, but am not sure if side loading it will work.

There is no such thing as to much power when it comes to power supplies... Sometimes the PS gives lower voltage then 5V (4,8 or less) and this can cause instability in some cases (depends on the boxes Elektronik).

You can try Apex, its similar to Nova witch i use with no problems on my Z4..

Like you yourself said, Apex is not very different from Nova launcher. I asked if there is an alternative launcher meant for TV boxes, like Zidoo's own launcher for the X6 Pro.

for this i think you have to change the "Keylayout File" , somewhere here is a useful Thread ,

but without your Stockfile from the i68 it will not work , because you need this values .

I will check if I can add it but it might be difficult as code is hex and source code use decimal numbers that is completely different, you can't just add it as it will cause bootloops.
But will have to test it first if there are no negative side effects if I can get it to work.
I don't like to overclock the CPU as it doesn't provide a sufficient performance increase and degrade lifespan of devices.
Overclocking the RAM, VPU has a far greater increase in overall performance and video playback.

In MM > it's easier to overclock system-wide and leave CPU stock, if preferred. Converting hex to dec shouldn't be an issue, syncing timing across components is what trips people once they start tinkering with this process.

Lifespan degradation - in this context - has been, in my experience, a myth. From HMP tunables to frequency scaling, OC'd systems can be structured for longevity, more than some may think.

I've yet to kill a device by overclocking.

Still have the two RK3368 Z4's I've used for testing, with one still running daily duty on a set.

Second thing... I still have my MK808b running on performance mode at 1.5Ghz... (RK3066!)

Iam not even sure on what kernel it runs because I use a KENT ROM from "mother russia" forum.

Let's be honest those socs are made to last forever... and if we still lower their lifespan at half by overclocking them their still gonna outlive us...

I understand overclocking more like fine-tuning a car.. It's not just putting more fuel in it (well that too) it's altering the Wright parameters so that it performs best!
