... then all you have to do is uncheck disable hardware overlays. I have that checked by default in my firmware. Or do you mean it happens when you leave it checked?

No, you noticed the right thing. It's the specific blocks it looks for. It uses an odd partition layout. 'Can't find block device', etc, is what it says when trying to flash on Z4 because of that.

... so you have to check that, or not check that for it to work well on your box? You should also think about trying the latest Z4 builds (not the 4PDA one)

If you use my full firmware, without replacing boot/system, that will always be activated automatically.

              But this is always so...

                Haha

                Not check... Then problem...

Is there a particular reason why you always activate this in your Roms?

... it's always on, automatically, if you use my full firmware, even after reboots.

If you replace either boot/system, it will be off, and you'll have to re-enable it with every reboot.

That's not a problem with my full firmware, or if you don't replace boot/system.

That's one of the things I did was disabled hardware overlays programmatically to make it persist after reboots.

that's confusing. Have you changed anything in the firmware? Because even the hardware overlays should be disabled by default, automatically, always, on my firmware.

I haven't seen any of these issues, including this issue with the apk installer and I use that all the time.

I'm gonna recommend you use the latest firmware for the Z4 I provided in this thread http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ctacore-thread

Flash the full firmware, then the images in the Z4 True Octacore archive.

Use the new Z4 versions from here: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ead#post641933

Other than that, I don't know what to say.

It's possible maybe the devices have different tolerances, if it's a Z4. You have to understand, I have two Z4 boxes and don't have this issue. Good luck..
