if it is a software issue, you can flash the firmware. Try.

65 - 70 degrees is not hot for a S912 soc,I think there are not many S912 boxes around that run cooler than that with Kodi, and also not harmful imo.

I recently got a T95Z plus to fix, that was running 92 degrees.

Well, my living room has a normal ambient temperature.
In general I don't think is good for any box to run at 90 degrees.

Of course 90 degrees is deadly for a box, but the point I tried to make is that 65 - 70 degrees is average for a S912 soc.

This is my first post on Freaktab. I have a Vorke Z6 DDR4 (3gigs RAM, 32gigs storage). The current firmware I have installed is the official 20171221. I updated that using the Vorke's built-in OTA (update & backup option in settings). I now see on the Geekbuying Vorke Z6 page that there is newer firmware version 20180126 (however it's unfortunately not available in the OTA update feature). So presumably I'd have to install it via a micro-sd card or via a male-male USB cable to my computer. Sounds like a pain to install, and a risk of bricking it, so I'm leery of doing it. Bummer that Vorke just don't make this lastest firmware available automatically through their OTA update feature in the Z6.

Does anyone know what the differences are between firmware 20171221 and 20180126? (is it worth the effort to update?).

I also read in this discussion that the 20171221 firmware supposedly has a broken Mali driver. Is that confirmed for sure? I'm not exactly sure how it's broken?! And also apparently the 20171221 has an outdated OpenGL 3.0. Is there an easy update to the Mali and OpenGL driver issues? Any tips on this would be most appreciated. Thank you.

2. Repair blurred image when booting.
3. Unlock Vorke launcher (User Choice can be in the Set -> HOME options select android native launcher to start).
4. Add ROOT switch to Set (set to be restarted to take effect).
5. Add video playback frame rate adaptive switch to Set, off by default.
6. Update Chrome browser to solve the situation which the old version of some websites can not pop up the soft keyboard.
7. Add ariscreen apk, support airplay IOS 11 version, chromecast and so on. 8. Remove the speed test app and update the KODI software version to 17.6.
