Hi guys,
I would like to have a rom that have a normal playstore and one that can solve my hang problem. my current ROM is not compatible with kodi xbmc original. According to my supplier, i have to use the pre installed tv centre but that one also gave me the same problem which was hang problem. i feel devastated now. i saw Guest 's post and clicked it, but there was a lot of firmware there and i don't know which one should i download. Another problem is,i only know how to update firmware using OTA, tried using usb burning tools but was unsuccessful. Can anyone help me..

Here's the link to the non-ATV Nexus custom ROMs for the M8S Pro L. The Nano variant is for minimalists, and the Stock variant comes preloaded with what you'd normally see on a Google Nexus tablet.

turtlegsr you can fixit yourself, unzip zip open file updater-script delete first 2 lines save and re-zip, Guest xplaned that in one of his post

Thanks to all, finally i successfully downgrade my M8S PRO L from 20171127 firmware to 20171109, but this firmware use new launcher in which RAIPLAY app don't start.
Netflix works fine and in full screen but now i would like to back to latest firmware with MECOOL launcher.....
I download 20170918.... fw , now my question is:

1. do you know if this firmware (20170918...) use mecool launcher?is this latest firmware that we have?
2. is there a way to install only TWRP without install a Magendaz firmware? i successfully downgrade my M8S PRO L with a double action:
- install [ROM] Mecool M8S Pro L Stock & Nano Nexus ROM (Android 7.1)
- run into recovery mode
- wipe cache,etc
- install fixed M8S PRO zip firmware from udisk

so is this M8S_PRO_L-ota-20170918.111557.V0619 latest firmwarefor our M8S PRO L?

No, we've had the following OEM releases since that one:

20171109.180937.V0928
20171117.164057.V0928
20171127.165619.V0928
20171208.110230.V0928

That last one I actually rejected as a foundation for custom ROM releases, since it didn't add any new features or fix any bugs. It just completely disabled stuff like sleep and Google Cast that had open issues.

unfortunatly RAIPLAY app that is for me important don't works also in 20170918.111557.V0619 firmware but i'm a little bit sure that works fir out of the box firmware.
Now which version you suggest me to use?
Using 20171127 Netflix play nod in full screen ...

Hi Guest ..i've clicked the link and downloaded it. it is an .img file. my question is, can i use this file from the OTA update that i have pre installed? or should i do it with other method?

The burn package (.img file) must be flashed with Amlogic's USB Burning Tool or Burn Card Maker. They're a proprietary Amlogic format, and not the same as the raw partition images that you can flash in TWRP, despite having the same file extension.

From the updater, just use the OTA update (.zip file).

Quite frankly, I would love having the sleep function disabled. 75% of the time, I need to manually power cycle my M8S Pro L as it seems to be stuck in sleep.
Also, is GoogleCast working for anything? My understanding was that GoogleCast feature was totally not working on ATV box except Nexus Player & Shield TV.

If it's the case, keeping those 2 features isn't useful.

Google Cast works when casting from Chrome on the PC, such as from the YouTube site. To support casting from Android apps, however, it seems you need a Google license.

Can it be installed on Guest firmware too?

No, I wouldn't think so, but I haven't had the chance to confirm. (I'm on vacation working from my phone.)
