    go to /system
make a backup of build.prop file
    edit build.prop

find the following line and update the values.

    is: ro.build.fingerprint=Nextbook/M8000ND/M8000ND:4.1.1/JRO03C/v009:user/release-keys

    update to: ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/SGH-I727/SGH-I727:4.0.3/IML74K/107:user/release-keys

or put any other finger print that you are interested in. then SAVE AND EXIT.

Also you need to do the followgin procedure.

    1. Open the Market and press the home button to return
    2. Go to Settings \ Applications \ Manage \ Running
    3. Press "Market"
    4. Press "Clear cache" (do not clear data)
    5. Press "Force stop"
    6. Return to "Settings \ Applications \ Manage \ Running"
    7. Press "Google Services Framework"
    8. Press "Clear Data"
    9. Press "Force Stop"
    10. Start Google Market, it must give an error
    11. Reboot, once back Market should work, if it gives an error it could need another minute to work
    12. Test the access, search Skype on the market, it should return 400+ results including the original Skype and google's apps like maps / streetview / docs and skype

if the market does not connect when boots, restart the tablet again.

Now you will have he market with more apps and the CPU will continue he ng in he build.prop the same mips.
Nice work on the instructions... These instructions should apply to any Android device. If you create a new thread, I'd be happy to sticky it.

Which Samsung device is that fingerprint from? Please report back again later on your experience using that fingerprint.

I am very tempted to include a fingerprint mod in my custom ROMs, but I'm not sure which device would be best to use for the change. I'm also not sure this isn't a choice better left to the users, or if a fingerprint change is even the best way to improve market compatibility.

An alternative is to use an app like Market Helper: http://codekiem.com/2013/02/13/market-helper/

I really like this app because it works without modifying the build.prop or other system files and doesn't require a reboot between changes. It works by intercepting the messages to the play store and changing the device fingerprint that gets sent. The only downside is that there are only few devices to choose from. Tablets include: Kindle, Kindle HD, Nexus 7 3G and Asus Transformer. Phones include HTC One X+, LGE Nexus4 or SGS3.

I don't have that tablet, but I do have a romdump from it, and according to the build.prop it is set to normal 1200, maximum 1320, and powersaving 800. The Next8HD8G is the same.

I believe it also hard coded in the kernel for all 1500 mhz Amlogic devices. Changing the build.prop won't make any difference.

I've seen this mentioned in the Ainol threads on Slatedroid a few times. I think Amlogic does this to ensure the CPU doesn't overheat. As I recall, some of the Ainol tablets were overclocked, but the system became unstable and crashed or froze above 1300 mhz.

We won't be seeing any overclocking on these tablets...

I found it on another site and edited it to match the tablet. It is for a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727. I agree I think for most users the app is the best way to go. Thanks again for all your help.

Are we are talking about a Next8HD8G model?

What were you doing previously when you bricked you tablet? What did you install or try to install and how?

Am I correct that you have put the uImage_recovery from the Modified Recovery download on your external SD card, along with the .zip file from the ROM download and optionally the .zip file from the Root download?

If so, am I correct that you have then rebooted to recovery by holding the volume and power key, chosen update from SD card and see no files available?

If so, what file system format is your external SD card?

Yes were talkong the same model. I can't remwmber what I was in when it bricked. I'm not sure what format my sd is in I will check when I get home from work tonight.? Is there a specific format it needs to be in? When I go into recovery I check the option that says update from ext. Then sd card.

Assuming everything else has been done correctly, I am guessing that either your external SD card is not formatted correctly or your recovery does not know how to read it.

Your external SD card should probably be formatted FAT32.

If you previously flashed something you shouldn't have, the firmware currently on you tablet may be preventing the external SD from mounting. If this is the case, we'll have try to something different to fix it.

Let me know what you find out about the external SD Card format.

Also, verify the names of the files you placed on the external SD card.

                  Thanks!

Also dont forget to unzip the recovery file to the SD card. I just copied both zip files to it and it failed. Once I reread the forum instructions I realized I missed that step. Once I extracted the recovery file it worked fine.

What size uSD card are you using? Don't use larger than a 2GB card and format it FAT, not FAT32!

                        HELP!!!!

My device is stuck in infinite boot. Okay, so I

                        1. Downloaded the Recovery Mod zip.
                        a. Unzipped it.
                        b. Added it to the external SD card.

                        2. Downloaded the Kyser_Root-signed zip.
                        a. Added the full zip to the external SD card.

                        3. Powered into recovery with Power + Volume-down
                        a. Wiped/ factory restored data
                        b. Wiped Cache
                        c. update from EXT.
                        d. Choose sdcard
                        c Choose the Kyser_Root-signed

                        4. It loaded yellow text on screen for 5-10 seconds.
                        a. It said it was complete.

                        5. I rebooted the device.

I would LOVE to see the a dump from the JUNE build date.

I thought I posted about this before, but now I can't find the post. I'm reluctant to attempt to root my wife's tablet because of the trouble I had with mine (and the crap I would have do put up with if I screwed up her tablet), so I was planning to buy another one from Walmart to try the root procedure on.

I went to a Walmart that didn't even carry these tablets until the last week or so and bought one of them today. When I got it home, I found it was built in May, not July! That means it has the older firmware on it. I bought my wife's tablet at a different Walmart more than six weeks ago, in early September, and it is a July build, as is mine that was purchased about a month ago, but this tablet that was just delivered to a Walmart store was built in May???? I figured it would be at least a July build, if not newer!

Tomorrow I'm going to take this one back to the Walmart I got ours from and try to exchange it for one of the July built ones.

Meanwhile... is there anyone else reading this thread who has a July built tablet that has rooted it but hasn't flashed a different ROM? If so, Shaun can give you instructions on how to dump the files he needs to put together a ROM with a build date in June.

I would love to get a copy of the June build. I found a May build for the Prestigio version of our tablet on the Prestigio site, but I haven't tried it. I think this is the first I've heard of a May version for our tablet. The two versions I have currently are both different dates in April. 4/2 and 4/12 I think.

Let me know if you find another tablet with the June build.

I flash the Stock ROM and it boots up without Root now. I was looking in the zip files, is the Rooted Zip file suppose to have barely any files in it?
