I'm lucky that Gearbest refund me $ 41,- and now Device came to me $ 89,- but in this condition its still "Expensive" and still not to worth to buy it!

Or if are willing to buy a Device which RK3399 than certainly choice H99 instead X99!!!

Dear Friends

here is my feedback:

I have upgraded for the latest firmware and everything went smoothly. i followed the post #123 and had no problems. With this last update i have root and kodi is working. i installed an addon and rebooted the box and everything is there again, including settings.

If it Helps this is what i have done, thank's to #trebor for all the links

So here is my steps:

1 - Download android tool release 2.43, drive assistant 2.45, and x99_20180522 rooted
2 - install de drive assistant 2.45
3 - Open android tool release 2.43 and upload the firmware and wait it to load.
4 - take a usb to ubs type C from my smartphone charger
5 - connect the cable to my laptop on 3.0 usb port
6 - with the box disconnected from power the only cable plugged in is HDMI
7 - Press the reset button near the usb type C port and keep it pressed
8 - Connect the usb type C cable to the box and then the power cable.
9 - a message in the android tool release 2.43 appears and i release the reset button
10 - upload the firmware to the box.
11 - wait a little to finish and the box to load.
12 - End

Ok I managed to get in maskrom mode but when it starts flashing, it says download boot fail! I think I completely ruined it now!! Any ideas?

-This time I'v successed and upgraded my Device according to "Hrodrigues" description;first off all I'v to thanks this guy

-For upgrading I'v used

>Android Tool Release v2.43
>Driver Assistance v2.45

and FW dated of "20180525" I'v used this one (but Rodrigues given 20180522 !!!) I do not what different???

>used one USB3.0 cable both end "MALE"!!!>>this cable used between Device to PC(Desktop-OS;WIN7 Ultimate)
>used one TypeC(3.1)cable one end FEMALE and the other end TypeC socket>>this adapter between Device and USB3.0 cable and goes to Desktop's USB3.0 port as well

Note;when I'v useing above two program(Tool and Assistance) there is no any problem and connection successed including file transfer(first to upload to Tool than to my Box)

Flashing Device duration;it takes about 2minutes only!!!

After flashing,Device display shows to "LOAD" and do not react! dont worry about this,you just close your programs from your PC and remove your Device from PC too
And re-connect your Device to your TV and make the necessary connections

When your Device re-opened than its turn to Default(Factory)reset and wait couple of miniutes and finally your Device will be opened!

Check from settings "ABOUT";then you will see 20180525(mine 25 but Rodrigues see 22 !!!) so can someone explain this??

NOTE;therefore for flashing listing pls follow Hrodrigues descriptions! one by one carefuly read and apply in fact its very easy

For after flashing,for "KODI" use;sorry I'hvny check yet! tonight I'll check it after Matches

First I'll check(to install) 18.0 LEILA and if not work properly than I'v to return 17.6

I'v just "Upload" the FW only!

I didnt use "ERASE FLASH" !!

I just upload FW file to the Tool than click it Update(or Upgrade)only and it works

So asking you does it necessary first ERASE and than UPGRADE???

when I'v flashed my Device than one program appeared(downloaded)>> "SuperSU" whats is this guys??

checking from GooglePlayeStore;"SuperSU" request to Update!! till now I do not Update it,while I'm not sure that
Or is it necessary to be Updated?


p.s;now tried to Update but it doesnt work! "update failed"

first SuperSU is needed for "root" , Update was only the App in Store ,

or did it ask to update the Binarys ??? the App update is needed , i am

sure after this u got the "Binary" update Message , until now RK3399

always cause Bootloop with updated SUs , if this Rom shall do the

same ??? but it shall help , if u after the update of Binarys , first and

without reboot convert the SuperSU to SystemApp , this can be done

in Settings of SuperSU . This Hint was given in the CSA96 Thread ,

PS : "eraseFlash" is a must between different Rom Versions .

-SuperSU is still in Device and I tried to uninstall but failed and now as it seems that SuperSU should be stay in Device,OK I got it

-BUT,it says "need update" when I check GooglePlayStore than I click it but it doesnt update! why I dont know?
Update doesnt work at present

-My Device now work well and I do not see any "Bootloop" effect

So until now I do not understand anything for SuperSU!!
