I think Im gonna wait until somebody test the latest amazon prime video apk 4.7.9-googleplay-armv7a, last batch of mecool m8s pro L supposedly had Playready 3.0 DRM but the apk wasnt working, so something wasnt right wtih the DRM, hopefully we get to know soon.

You can buy Amazon Prime for 6 months for a dollar at ****. He sells you a .edu email address. You get student discount. It's 6.99 a month after that if you don't cancel.

They won't have them in stock until the first week of August at the earliest, from my understanding from my chat with Gearbest. So, I would expect to receive the box toward the end of August.

I hope this info will help anyone thinking of ordering one of these....it can be confusing, but there are savings when you muck around a bit..

If you use gearbest android app and find it in their site under the banner APP ONLY you will see it for 59.99, you have to have the EU plug to get it at that price. No discount codes change the price.

If you simply enter the site via android again,and select it via FLASH SALE and use the code GBKM8, it shows it as 72.99 to 66.99 and then you try to add the code GBKM8, you can get the US plug version for 59.99

If you order via windows, it then shows the item as $101.46 and then 93.12, then use code GBKM8 it then comes up as 83.39, and you can still choose any plug, same price.

Still heck of a price at $62+.

No worries panchovilla...I was just pointing out there were a few different ways the pricing works on gearbest...it seems a goodish price to me, but I am not very savvy at what is a good ordinary box for a simple user, or a premium box.

It's weaker, slower wifi, less RAM.

But now starting to regret it a bit, just hope there will be ota updates and the firmware won't disappoint.
Read that...
S905X AndroidTV only runs in 32-bit not 64-bit, so you can only use slower arm 32-bit Kodi or other apps.
Locked bootloader, so LibreELEC won't be possible.
Kodi will also be bad I heard, no frame-rate, colorspace switching and problems with the whitelist on Amlogic devices.
Just hope it doesn't have the 100 bugs that the Xiaomi Mi box Oreo update has.
