I only purchased this device to if it indeed was Google certified and supported HDCP 2.2. Probably not a very good reason for most sane people.
I will hazard a guess that the same way Mecool made the M8S Pro L(S912) to follow M8S Pro +(S905X), they will soon make an S912 version of this box. Give them a little time, they will, because these guys love raking in cash from the likes of you and I. haha

Hey Trebor, can we have some feedback about kodi 18 (autoframe rate and colorspace switching) and if it's possible to install libreelec/coreelec?

                Thank You

He is more a Kodi / libreeelec user/fan than myself

Thanks...unfortunately I have always found Videostrong to be very unhelpful with solving issues with their software in the past, and as such, I now try to stay away from their product.

The TV you use must also support HDCP 2.2 so as you see we have HDCP2.2
So trebor thanks for all the info
Amazon Prime Video and HDCP 2.2 when connected to a 4K TV, ¿what resolutions does amazon prime video had when you use a 4K TV?
¿any new info about the future support for netflix?, Im assuming that whats missing its the netflix ESN number on the boxes, since the WideVine L1 DRM and HDCP 2.2 its already there

Having a look at Amazon currently have 1080 and mentions 5.1 this may also be due to Limiting bandwidth of ethernet/and wifi 10/100 and 2.4 only
No information as yet about Netflix

Why would that be? 100/100 = 12.5 MB/s. What does Amazon require? 15 mbit? 100/100 is enough.

Thats strange, apk 4.7.9-googleplay-armv7a should be able to work at 4K and HDR with HDCP 2.2, bandwidth should be around 20Mb/s tops, also not everything is in 4K in amazon right now, you need to test something like The Man in the High Castle, most content is just 1080p

Thanks trebor , if you see that the above title works at 4K, please share the update
I'll be waching this one, if Netflix starts working, then its a sure buy

Just when I decided to get a new device, then Netflix starts with their nonsense(not caring about paying subscribers, only big partners paying millions).
Hope Mecool will still be able to get a Netflix license.
At least Amazon Prime will work, just hope they don't start with the same restrictions, otherwise tv boxes will need 10 different licenses and prices will need to triple just to stream basic services.
If only someone could develop a Linux friendly TV OS that could replace all the limitations of Android for ARM devices and stream any service in HD, it would have worked so much better.

If they have Netflix licence for the M8S Pro L, why cant they use the same licence for this box, since they are the same company (mecool)?

They don't have a license for the M8S Pro L, the Netflix app on this box is dead now.........
