Great find. This Netflix version, is the official Android TV OS app that works with a remote, and no mouse or other pointing device needed. It plays in 1080P but not 4k, which this box is capable of. Also, it does not support DD+ surround sound. But for this device, it works very well, I will use it.

I tried that also, reset using the Android Recovery, did not help. I have no idea why the firmware would be different before and after a reset, does not make sense.

I tried today with flashing the OTA-USB update, same version as factory version that the box came with, but same result -> no CPU temp sensor...

It baffles me, how the CPUtemp app installed and worked when I first received the box, but not after a reset.. Thanks for testing the OTA-USB update, now I don't have to.

Don't do it if you don't have to. After such update I lost the option to select my language in Lean Keyboard, so I have to use only English because default keyboard also does not support it.
Btw, CPU-Z also does not see any CPU temp sensor.

One further question, are you able to use "Built in Chromecast". I am not able to get it to work.

I'm not sending the box back since I upgraded passive cooling, but will probably install CoreElec-Kodi to internal and get rid of this crap OS forever

If you are talking about "Chromecasting" from my phone, then, no. My LG phone does NOT support Chromecastilng natively....... But, I CAN cast almost everything from my computer.

Tested using my Android 7.0 LG phone.

Except for Netflix, as expected, and for Facebook, which apparently is broken in every Chromecast device.

atvXperience rom for s905X boxes has been released, its v2E to be on par with other chipsets like s912

you can grab it here:

if somebody who owns this box can try it and check if netflix and amazon prime video are working with this rom
supposedly netflix works with this roms on boxes that already have widevine L1 like the km8

My mistake, I though there was already a stock firmware out there, please nobody try anything until there is a backup firmware.

Maybe trebor can work its magic with mecool or gearbest a get a link to a stock firmware for this box

If it delets Recovery, very difficult
That's why I don't do such experiments before I have a working TWRP recovery on my SD card. Since there is no TWRP recovery for this box, I'll pass...
