I think the only solution is to wait for a new ROM with a date higher than the one already installed.

It is quite possible that they figured out something goes wrong already and stop the OTA, unfortunately for users like me it's too late...

Write to all mail addresses that I have found on their web page and also on Facebook.
I doubt they will come back.....
Regarding new OTA, even if they will release new one, how we will put it into our boxes ? We will need ZIP file.
Do you know Android Police? could you please head to their website and send a message regarding this issue?, if possible send a picture of your TV screen with the device powered on, I already send them a message but I guess the more the merrier, the idea is to let other users know about this through their website but they will need more users to chime in, go to www.androidpolice.com, thanks.

In the mean time you can try to install CoreElec 9.0.1 with Kodi Leia 18.1 on SD card, and see if it works. On my KM8 box it works perfectly.

Android system on your box in internal memory is not affected, and after successful CoreElec instalation you have a dual boot system on this box.
If you turn the box on with SD card inserted, box will boot to CoreElec. If you turn on the box without inserting SD card, it will boot to Android.
It is all explained on CoreElec forum; look for How To Install CoreElec

It has just one small bug.
In state which box is right now (destroyed android, than cab boot only into recovery) you are unable to turn it off from coreelec.
Eachtime time I am turning it off it always boot back to coreelec.
From what I have read in corelec from, it is android false and that would have total sence.
So not an option, until Aholes from videostrong repair it.

Since it is not completely safe (for SD card health) when in CoreElec to turn box power off, you can use a work around:
From Power Menu choose reboot to eMMC/Nand (that is reboot to internal Android). The box will shut down SD card and reboot, in your case to Android Recovery. From recovery it is safe to turn the box power off.
