The format I use makes it easier for first time users, and allows for people to mix things across versions, such as the kernel.

Just doing it one way saves a bunch of hard drive space on our server and reduces the bandwidth requirements.

That is why we do it that way.

I tried adding multi-user the other day as you requested, but on my M7 Pro the settings app disappeared. I'll do some more testing. That's why I haven't added that option yet.

Can your CWM Zip tool be utilized for other PiPo tablets (M8Pro 3G or UpU1)?

Also to clarify, at least for me, I ask if my understanding of your "readme" is correct as follows:

1] To use this CWM ROM Update installer you must have CWM already installed and the current ROM parameter configuration on the tablet must be compatable with that of the ROM to be utilized.

2] In Windows, use 7-zip or similar .zip software to copy the following files from the ROM folder into the root of the zip file. (what Compression Method?)

    system.img
    boot.img
    kernel.img

3] Rename .zip file to 'update.zip'.

4] Once you have added the files to the .zip, copy it to the tablet (what location?).

5] Reboot the tablet to CWM recovery and install the zip file.

NOTE: I recommend doing a factory reset from CWM too. Currently I advise using funs CWM.

Hey all, I have the pipo m9pro loaded up with RileyROM's 1.3a. What is the best compatible back up and recovery rooting app.???? Appreciate any advice, especially from real live m9pro-ers....Also curious on a solid ROM manager tool that Freaktabers are using with the RileyRom 1.3a. Once backed up I will be diving into 'Thanks Riley' version 1.7.

People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.

I always use My Backup Pro with best results and I can change parameter files to increase or decrese app size at the moment I flash a new ROM and with the advantage that the app can backup the data too ( very usefull if you are a gamer and dont want to lose the scores )

        Hope I helped.

Looks like one or more of my tweaks are causing problems. I tested it on the M7 Pro and everything seemed to work.

Be looking for an update 1.7a, tomorrow sometime.
          Thanks Riley

EDIT : If you need something to test, I'll be glad to.

                Thank you very much Riley.

Downloading the wifi 1.7a version right now. I'll let you know how it goes.

In another context, while browsing the pipo forums I found a post that states that you can upgrade your firmware without losing your installed apps and data.

In other word they say that if you dowload the new .img file and then rename it to "update.img" then wait for the update notification then you'll keep all your original data.

I haven't tried it yet, but if it is possible, could you provide your ROMS in .img format so we don't lose our data and progs?

That would be a cool feature.

                Thanks in advance.

                  1.7b

Hello riley, is this 1.7b for 3g and debloated? does it come with SuperSU or superuser?

                  Kind regards.

I'm not sure about whether 1.7b is for wifi or 3G...as I stated on the post, I'll have to wait until somebody tries it.

Updating official firmware and custom ROM's are two different animals. In order to do what I do, I have to separate the files. I do provide a way to flash via CWM (template in the ROM kit).

I flash many times a week, and am able to get back to normal use quickly with my trusty Titanium!!!!

When the tablet boot up again you just go to Settings > Users > Add new user and that's it!
This tutorial doesn't work for me, after edit build.prop I stuck on a boot animation, what is wrong?

Chinese here, by reading the title for the chinese pipo site, it's stating that the latest firmware is made to be compatible for both wifi and 3g

                            Hello Friend Riley

I tried 1.7b in my M9Prom WiFi Version

Flashed ok with parameter 8 and later flashed CWM recovery.

Very Slow and very long first boot ( almost 10 mins ) , Finally started with a new user interfase for first configuration ( std android ) ask for language, wifi, google account, etc... At configuration time detects a new update and ask for downloading. I cancel update.

After configuration is ok, works almost smooth but freezes now and then and I had to reset several times. sometimes freezes and error "UI not responding" Wait? Cancel ?

Boot again and detects update, acepted this time. downloding zip file for update
Reboot in cwm and update zip from sd card. Failed !!!!

                            Assert Failed :
                            getprops ( "ro.product.device" ) == "rk30sdk"
                            getprops ( "ro.product.product" ) == "rk30sdk"

                            error code (7)

                            Maybe its the 3G version.

                            1.7a work fine.......
