This is how I got it going on my M7 Pro the other night, after flashing my latest ROM.

I usually load all of my apps via Titanium after a flash...and Skype is one of those apps. I saw where people were having problems with Skype, so I decided to test.

When I ran the restored copy of Skype, it got stuck on the loading splash screen.

I went in to settings and deleted Skype and then did a fresh installation from Google Play Store.

After my fresh installation, I was able to call and talk to my buddy Tattman65 for about 30 minutes and everything worked fine (it was a video call).

So, it might work for you on the M9 Pro...if you just do a fresh install.

I read an article that says Skype is working on improving their Android app...so maybe an update will soon solve everything.

I tried 1.7b in my M9Prom WiFi Version

Flashed ok with parameter 8 and later flashed CWM recovery.

Very Slow and very long first boot ( almost 10 mins ) , Finally started with a new user interfase for first configuration ( std android ) ask for language, wifi, google account, etc... At configuration time detects a new update and ask for downloading. I cancel update.

After configuration is ok, works almost smooth but freezes now and then and I had to reset several times. sometimes freezes and error "UI not responding" Wait? Cancel ?

Boot again and detects update, acepted this time. downloding zip file for update
Reboot in cwm and update zip from sd card. Failed !!!!

          Assert Failed :
          getprops ( "ro.product.device" ) == "rk30sdk"
          getprops ( "ro.product.product" ) == "rk30sdk"

          error code (7)

          Maybe its the 3G version.

          1.7a work fine.......

Riley Did you see this ????

            Hi Randy,
I dont think it is due to restored version.
When i got my m9pro last week, i downloaded skype...it was having problems. It logins fine..it just when making or receiving calls, the app just restarts.

After that, i flashed ur 1.3a rom but still had the same problem.

and it seems like it is a common problem with pipo..there are lot of ppl complaining on their facebook page regading skype issue.

But i will still flash this new 1.7a and hope it fixes the problem somehow.

            thanks.

I was just looking at the Pipo forum, and others are saying that the OTA update failed for them, too.

Looks like their first implementation isn't working as planned.

I think I can disable the OTA updates via the debloat process, but we need to experiment with this and see what happens to our tablets with these updates. This is a whole new feature we are dealing with.

Do we really want OTA updates? I'm not sure......

Can your CWM Zip tool be utilized for other PiPo tablets (M8Pro 3G or UpU1)?

Also to clarify, at least for me, I ask if my understanding of your "readme" is correct as follows:

1] To use this CWM ROM Update installer you must have CWM already installed and the current ROM parameter configuration on the tablet must be compatable with that of the ROM to be utilized.

2] In Windows, use 7-zip or similar .zip software to copy the following files from the ROM folder into the root of the zip file. (what Compression Method?)

                  system.img
                  boot.img
                  kernel.img

3] Rename .zip file to 'update.zip'.

4] Once you have added the files to the .zip, copy it to the tablet (what location?).

5] Reboot the tablet to CWM recovery and install the zip file.

NOTE: I recommend doing a factory reset from CWM too. Currently I advise using funs CWM.
Sorry, I must have overlooked this post....

Thanks to my friend and fellow developer 900Supersport for making this CWM template. I have started including it with all of my ROM's, but to be honest...I haven't spent much time playing with it...maybe once or twice. Since I test many different parameters, It's beneficial for me to use the flash tool from a PC.

I just use the standard winzip or 7zip default and it works, OK. I haven't tried, but some have had trouble with the stock zip app in Windows. I haven't tried it with Winrar...so I don't know if it works or not. Lately, I just do the compression from Linux since that's where all of my ROM files originate.

You need to copy the file you create into the root of your internal SD. I have had problems with CWM erasing my external SD card, so anytime I'm playing with CWM, I remove the external SD from my tablet, so I don't loose my Titanium backups. I also keep my external SD cards formatted to NTFS which CWM can't read anyway...but keeps me from getting corruption issues with my SD cards.

Whenever you start to put together a CWM ROM Flash...check all of the file sizes within the ROM...because they need to be about the same as the current ROM you have installed. The same parameters will be used, and they are dependent on getting the files sizes correct. For instance, these non-debloated ROM's I have released have HUGE system.img files, so you must use the flash tool to install them. My debloated ROM's follow a standard system.img size...it's usually the same every time. I can't control the size of the other files, but my boot.img is always smaller than the allotted size.

                  I hope this helps.

I agree. 1.7a is the best ROM I have used for my M9 Pro WiFi.
Until now I haven't experienced the common problem with other previous versions, WiFi disconnections at random times.
GPS is not working well, but I think that is Pipo's job to correct.
Good job Riley, Thanks a lot.

I have installed the 1.7a 3g some minutes ago, when the Wifi does out of range and then comes back on range again it apears the message "Find a OTA upgrade package! do you want to update? upgrade package version: 1.0.1, size: 9mb"
