It appears that the USB OTG transmitter is a bit weaker than my other boxes, as it took about a dozen tries to rip the partitions using the Amlogic Update USB Tool with my usual 2m cable. (I've ordered a shorter one with a ferrite choke to reduce electromagnetic interference.) Later, when I started flashing custom ROMs, it failed during a bootloader write, which is of course the worst possible time. The device is bricked pretty badly right now, and I've been unable to recover using Mask ROM Mode.

Has anyone else tried recovering this box by shorting pins on the eMMC chip? The usual pins (from other Mecool devices) don't seem to be working.

Note that I was able to recover this box with the latest Amlogic burn package that I just posted. No shorting pins for Mask ROM Mode required. All I did was connect the USB OTG cable.

Hey guys, can anyone guide me through the Audio settings of the KM9?

First I'm not sure but does the AV port support mini toslink output? I thought so before buying but it seems it's just for 3,5mm cinch and not mini optical cables? Second, when I go into Advanced audio settings and activate the option SPDIF, it just gets blank again after leaving the menu instead of saving the setting "on".

And is anybody aware of all the different advanced audio settings like, Dolby Audo (off, Line, RF), DTS percentage etc.. ?

I'm using the Emby for Android TV app on the KM9 and the video stats show that everything gets direct played including HD Audio with Exoplayer. Can I use a HDMI/optical splitter to get 5.1 audio, since my audio receiver just supports SPDIF and 5.1 DTS Core and DD.

I think they cheated us with this tv box. In the advertising of Gearbest spoke of Google certificate, license for Netflix 4k and HBO 4k and it's all a lie. I do not know if someone did a screenshot of the product when it said all this. Now they have changed it. But I bought it in pre-order when in its advertising it said that it included all this. As soon as I arrive I plan to return it for liars. I bought it exclusively for the Google certification issue, Netflix 4k and it's all a lie.
Can anyone give me any reason to keep it with a Beelink GT1 Ultimate and a Mecool KI Pro?

so the mi box s(the newest) is better than Mecool MK9? because i am big xiaomi fan and user in a lot of mi devices but i think that the KM9 was better than mi box, better cpu,ram,rom ,ports etc...

I would have both,
Always good to have a a legit box and a Fiddle box

One for Certified Services and works on most paid streaming sites etc
And one to fiddle and tinker with.
The hardware is better on the KM9,
Xiaomi can be more compatible with Paid streaming services 4k etc...
Upto the Needs of the User is what it all comes down too.
