justXBMC "new firmware for x7"

I have tried Quickshot and this rom so far (got my device yesterday).

I think I like this one best. My only issues are that the keymappings for xbox360 controllers (wireless) and the A2 mouse aren't very good in this rom compared to Quickshot 3.1

Would it be possible to add those features somehow? I don't know how to decompile the quickshot rom and grab the relevant files.

I tried copying the keymaps for android from Quickshot (the /usr/share/key*) directories, which didn't help. I also tried copying the Quickshot XBMC keymap files to the justXBMC directory on the /sdcard partition. Neither worked -

I like the A2 keymap and the xbox 360 wireless controller keymaps both within android and XBMC best on Quickshot, they're hard to use on justXBMC...any ideas?

Xbmc on JUSTXBMC is frodo very on quickshot you probably ising gotham witch handle xbox controler difrent. Installed xbmc gotham on JUSTXBMC and it will than work as in quickshot. As to android ui and games xbox controler should work nice at it Was tweaked for best compatibility with games and ui. So what is better in quickshot? Let me know and I will looking into it.

I see - so I should be able to grab Beyond or some other APK version, and that may behave differently? The difference with quickshot is that the A2 minix remote works perfectly (the button maps are more logically set - such as having the middle button on the remote pad be the same as enter/select) and Xbox 360 controllers work natively with XBMC (I'm assuming that's Gotham).

The android ui works perfectly with the controllers in justXBMC, although I'm still getting the hang of the keymap tool for touch games. I haven't had a chance to install emulators yet.

I'm actually hanging my new tv on the wall tonight, so after I should have a chance to play around some more.

So you're putting a gotham version together? Cool! I guess I'll probably want to titanium backup my apps and settings, and cifs config?

OTA excites me! Hooray! I'm currently running finless and find it is nowhere near as smooth running BeyondXBMC.

Once 1.3.5 comes out I'll TitaniumBackup all the apps and move over, I suppose.

Tried to download but my Chrome blocks the download because of malware. False positive I guess.

Its uploaded to mediafire.com so you shouldnt have any issues downloading.

Installation went smoothly. I decided to re-set up XBMC from scratch so working through that. Everything seems to be working normally as before.

I did notice however that XBMC ran for the first time. I hadn't done anything, just allowing the Add-ons to install/update automatically. Unfortunately it went back to the old skin (confluence icons). I had to reinstall from the zip a page back to get your skin back.

Is it possible to have a 4th custom main menu button? I have been trying to run 4 smart playlists in the main menu, however as only 3 are supported currently I can't use them all. Not a big deal, but could be handy.

Hi Lewy20041 - I have noticed one issue. Not entirely sure if it is on my end or not. I have sources added via SMB share like I have in the past. After playing videos for about 30 seconds they stop with some form of connection timeout. Sometimes it comes up with "connection timeout" other times "no longer available' message. I am going to restore back to the older version of the firmware to see if it is still happening, as it could be my server.

as to xbmc skinn issue, i added wrong ver of xbmc:/
realy sorry for that.
uploading v1.3.5v2 with xbmc fixed

and when it come to smb/nfs i always encourage people to use automount script in
/etc/init.d/ folder there are two scripts first is 97SMB and other 98NFS.
just edit the scripts, change ip for your shares there, and chenge permisions to 755 "rwx r-x r-x"
and reboot the device
your shares will be automaticly mounted in /mnt/Samba... etc
also you can acces them easly thru xbmc->video->files
hope that helps
