There must be something in the firmware that you are trying to install. Try a different firmware.
Also, it is always best to install a new firmware using the Amlogic USB burning tool. You can make your own cable, by cutting an splicing two cables. Best to use "fat" USB cables.

It it the latest one in the Google Drive from the beginning of this tread. I already re-downloaded it. The one before that, 03-05, also gives the same error. But I will try to get a male-male cable and try the Burning Tool

Are you sure you have the one with a gigabit Ethernet?

Funny how one can be so sure of something but when checked, it turns out to be different. I do not have the gigabit ethernet one :0

Thanks for the update Gbox23, used the OTA update, put it on a USB stick and used the updater App. All went perfectly and have an updated box. Everything seems to work fine so far. I was surprised that all my apps and settings were retained so the pain of re-installs was unnecessary. First impression was that video image seems a bit darker than the original ROM, is there any reason this should be?

Well, every firmware here is for AH212, which will simply not work on AH213 (seems to be a model with 100Mb Ethernet), with latest stock firmware available here:

Was testing slimbox vontar as android.

So went back to Factory Firmware from June this summer
Purposely turned off Root.

Does this fix any wifi troubles?
i have 2 that loose wifi connectivity after a while.
Wifi connected, but no internet. Wifi off and on fixes it

Not sure, I've yet to have any complaints from clients about it.

Why can't i update?
I download OTA version, put it on usb, select the file in upadter, and i get online update:Error Ota Package zip file
