Does this kernel have any changes to wifi as well? I've been having some issues with wifi, the connection becomes very bad after a while (45-60 minutes). A reboot fixes this.

            Dear wasser,
Please, check your link. It doesn't have kernel inside. It looks like source code or something else

I have a K-R42 with the full sized remote.

There are some NAND mounting errors. If a USB storage device is plugged in at boot the NAND will not mount and even if you unplug it after boot the NAND will not remount. There will sometimes be a "Blank Flash" message asking if you would like to format the flash drive if you click it. Need to reboot without external drive plugged in or powered for the device to work because many apps need the NAND to work.

Plugging in a USB storage device after it has fully booted sometimes unmounts the NAND as well. When this happens you get the "USB Storage" is connected message but you also get the "Blank Flash" message too.

I came from Lewy's Hybrid 2.3 which never had these issues. Also, a bunch of buttons on the remote don't work either. It's always the coloured media buttons, next and previous track and the numbers to letters button like on many other ROMs.

                Hi guys
I'm a complete noob to all of this. I just received my k-42 a couple of days ago and successfully flashed justXBMC yesterday. I knew the lan thing could be an issue for me, so I expected it.

So my very noob question is whether i could flash wasser's new kernal with my justxbmc? Sorry if its a dumb question, my head is trying to wrap around all of this kernal and firmware stuff and I can't seem to understand it. I want JustXBMC as this box is my daughter's present and that's what she will probably use 90% of the time. I'd like to have it all setup and running before I give it to her.

Any help is appreciated, thanks for this community and all the hard work.

yes, you can flash the kernel if your k-r42 has revision 2.1.

I will connect my K-R42 PCB 2.1 to my PC and give You access through TeamViewer (I have full version)!
With this "hybrid" You can easily access K-R42 and with adb shell get whatever You want from it!
Another words: with TeamView You will get access to my PC and then, with adb shell straight way to K-R42
Moreover, with this "connection" You can easily upload new kernel/rom, flash it and test! Witout waiting for us - testers!!

So, are we going to setup online, debug session??

                      dzidek
it would be great if you could test the new kernel and report the results!

                      thanks

you have to erase NAND before flashing with flashtool.

                          Hi wasser,
I don't know whether something wrong with me or with your last kernel, sorry.
At first I wasn't able to download it with my Win IE. Explorer opens it as HTML file. I have managed to download it using Chrom instaled on my son's PC eventually. It would be better if you use zip or rar for your links in future.
I tried to flash this kernel upon k-r42-wasser-1.2.1, but it doesn't allow me to switch on an ethernet in setting menu of my TN-BX09_V2.1 board from 2013/05/31. System is freezing and rebooting all the time when I do it.

Can you explain the flash procedure for the wasser flash tool as i have the lan issue and the new kernel but have never used the tool before and need a step by step on what i do.

                            Thanks

Did you flash that wasser kernel after flashing the complete rom?
On newer hardware the newer wasser kernel is the only one that will give you a working lan connection.

The wasser kernel can be flashed with the tool in the wasser rom.
Only tick the kernel part and point it to the location of the kernel file on your computer.

I erased the NAND with the ROM Flash Tool and then I flashed items 1-7. That's how I installed the ROM to begin with.
