Yes... That's better. I would much rather work from the original firmware.

              I'm downloading both, though.

Then the parameter file, the one as default, is for 4 gb? So there isn't 2gb parameter file.

Each time you install a different firmware you need to erase IDB and install from scratch. The partitions can't overlap.
Ok. So, if after i flash your rom, if i had to back to pipo stock rom, i only have to use pipo/rockchip tools and flash the pipo img, wich install the stock rom with the 2gb default application storage? Its beacuse of warranty, and i think it was like in mtk6589 chip with mobilephones. Thanks

Hey guys. I'd like to know if this custom ROM or any other Pipo M8 Pro firmwares could be installed on this tablet:

They are almost identical, the only thing different about these two tablets is the RAM memory. Pipo M8 Pro has 2 gb of RAM, while Vonino Primus Qs has only 1 gb of RAM. I'd like to install RileyROM on my tablet, but i am not sure if the RAM memory makes my device incompatible with your custom rom.

Thanks in advance for your work.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. Also, could you tell me if there's a way to install the rockchip drivers on windows 8.1, so I could install the rom from my computer? Thanks a lot and sorry for the trouble.

I attempted to flash this Russian firmware and ended up bricking (REALLY) my M8 Pro. I would not recommend flashing it. Better safe than sorry. Now, I have to figure out how to get this tablet going again so I can flash it back to my 2.1 ROM.

Just a warning in case anyone was thinking about flashing that custom ROM.

Problem with 3rd party camera apps

Thanks for this wonderful rom Mr. Randy! BTW I would like to ask if anyone has problems with 3rdparty camera apps? When I try to take shots on full resoultion (5mpx) the camera seems to stuck up on saving. The stock camera doesn't have that issue, btw im using this rom with the custom stock kernel with ddr720.

Hi, i brick my m8pro like rrileypm with the russian rom with bootloader 2.07

I put m8pro in maskrom and flash with rkbatchtool 1.7, when m8pro is in maskpro the rectangle in rkbatchtool is blue.

pins 5-6, 6-7 or 7-8, sorry not remember the pins

Sorry for my poor poor english

I tried them all last night...they didn't work for me. I had to walk away for a while to think...and go to work.

I will report my findings when I get back to it.

Meantime...if you figure it out...let us know.

Re: Pipo M8 Pro RileyROM 2.1

First, a very grateful thank you for the excellent support of these great tablets. I've been using 2.01a since I got my M8 Pro, and was running up against the 2gb flash limit.

I just flashed 2.1 today, and it's generally working well. I did experience the Freaktab icon freeze on the first reboot, but after following your directions to manually reboot into flash mode I was able to successfully complete the upgrade.

The extra headroom definitely helps. Tablet seems much faster and more responsive.

Three issues I've noticed so far:

                                1) Several random reboots. Hoping it will "settle down" after some use.
                                2) The Contacts app seems to be MIA after installing Nova Launcher. It was there, but now it's not. Same thing with 2.01a. Tried reinstalling which appeared to complete and update without incident, but cannot open and no icon.
                                3) I keep getting a popup message that Pipo Family Launcher has closed. I'm not even using this.

Thank you again for all your work.
