Additionally, I've read that SuperSU, which is the superuser app I install in my ROM's now supports multi-user root information. I'm running the very latest version of SuperSU...so the support should be there, but again...I haven't tested it myself.

Excited to see PiPo on the cusp of giving us 4.4, I'm really hoping it gives the device that little boost it needs to be properly smooth and consistent. Of cause I'll be waiting for the Riley ROM version :-)
Guessing that pulled version is a no go & we're waiting on PiPo ?

Since it bricked my tablet...I would definitely wait for a stable, tested version. I won't put out a ROM that bricks tablets.

3g problem

Hello, I have installed v2.1.2 3G version but I am still having problems with internet from SIM card. Tablet can not connect with mobile network (Orange PL). I tried both 2g and 3g options.. Did somebody have similiar problems? Did somebody successfully connect to mobile network?

Just to be sure:
Is my problem with multi user related to the image itself meaning it has the same behavior on the Pipo tablets or is my problem related to the fact that I am using a Pipo firmware (rileyrom) on an Odys tablet?

I need a new hint where to search. I compared a lot of user settings files between user0 and user10, but I found nothing that had any influence :|

I found another image for rk31 boards ( http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=2343 ). Do you think there is a way to try this without having a brick? Or is it completely useless because the current (rileyrom) kernel does not match the other image.

The problem with multi user is that Pipo never added any support for it. They didn't even turn it on...I did. I'm doing some more research on what else I can do to complete it.

one says true and the other one says false. Don't have any problems with it, but I think this is not meant to be?

Pipo does not support multi user.

The additional components in the systemui to complete the feature...like background pictures aren't present.

I have simply turned the feature in build.prop...but I'm still trying to figure out what else is needed.

If you try a live wallpaper...it might work.

If you guys can come up with a list of what doesn't work on other user accounts, I will attempt to fix it. I have read that Android in general has some issues with full functionality with other user accounts. Some paid apps won't work for anyone but the main account.

Too me it does not look like it is not working. It looks more like the other users are locked. Everything gray and no touch possible.
However, I got the stock ROM of my Odys Prime and flashed that. After rooting and enabling Multiuser everything works fine. The volume keys are changed now, too, so that I am quite happy now.
In the Odys ROM there is no Certificate Center. I don't expect any licence trouble. Maybe it is worth trying that on the Pipo M8pro?

Well, I didn't install last version, but had much trouble with gray overlay with 2.1.

Here is what I did to sort things out :
- Install Apex launcher + Titanium backup
- create 3 additional users (I don't remember if I tried login in with them - don't for the 1st try)
- backup Apex app+data
- restore Apex app+data (this will install apex on all accounts)
- login with additional accounts and press home key and select Apex + always option

if I remember well the gray overlay subists for some time with additional accounts then (after 1 or 2 reboots) it will only be present on Settings but everything works (except bluetooth) and wifi is a bit painful to turn on but only the first time (need to switch between owner and user)

Btw, to quickly reinstall my setup for all accounts, I restore all apps+data with titanium backup and restore Apex Settings (from apex menu using same xml files)...

recovery mode

This may be a FAQ, but I've not been able to find the answer.I'd like to flah this ROM on my pipo m8 WiFi device, but I can't find how to access the recovery mode to install the clockwork recovery. Can anybody please help me ?

The only real way to install CWM recovery is to use the flash tool. Instead of stock recovery...select CWM as your recovery.img. I'm pretty sure the generic CWM is included in the ROM kit.

First, flash the whole ROM with stock recovery and go through the whole first boot process. That way the stock recovery formats the data partitions. Then uncheck everything except the recovery line in the flash tool and just flash CWM. Use the Reboot app to reboot to recovery.

My new ROMs now automatically install CWM after the first boot this way. I've been waiting for a new firmware to update this tablet...but I might do a new one soon to add my newest tweaks with the same firmware.
