Also be aware different apps give my SD card different labels, Trans Flash, SD Card (2), SD Card, External SD... I lost my backup partially attributable to different labeling of my SD card, Titanium Backup labels my internal storage as SD Card.
Also be aware that I set my backup directory to a USB Flash drive, and unless that USB Flash Drive drive is inserted and mounted, I cannot even change the backup directory nor in any way do a backup that I see, guessing I'd have to manually edit or reset it somehow, but that should not be necessary in my opinion.

Updates on lock ups
- 1.5 - lockup after long standby (screen time out or after short pressing power button)
- Latest Original Pipo Rom - no lockups after 24 hours and many of those hours in standby
- 1.4.2 - Lockup, but I did not wait and installed all of my apps from backup from TB (too impatient). Worked all day, but after overnight on standby (no power charger attached) I got a lock up. Same as with 1.5 I had to press the reset to get it going again.
- Just installed 1.5.1 - This time I'm not installing anything on it, no apps, only the auto updates for the already installed 1.5.1 apps. I will follow up with a status tomorrow.
Also, can someone please help me understand the difference between standby (short press power or screen timeout) and Deep Sleep? What do I need to go into deep sleep? Is there a setting somewhere in the tablet? Your reply will be greatly appreciated by this newbie. Thanks

Just to clarify, this is happening with long standby, and with no power charger attached. After the reset I test to make sure I just did not run out of juice. Plenty of power left upon reset is pressed.

You can put the tablet on Standby OR let it time-out to go to Standby.
DeepSleep is just ONE of the different processor-speed-states the tablet can be in, ussually during Standby it will enter DeepSleep.
In previous Stock-releases of Pipo DeepSleep just wasn't working, Riley replaced a certain library in the ROM, so now DeepSleep DOES work.
I use CPUSPY to see the states the tablet has been in. I am running Riley 1.5 and I can see the tablet DOES enter DeepSleep when I leave it alone. Both after time-out AND when I switch it to Standby.
However: when I leave my tablet on the charger during the night, it will NOT enter DeepSleep, it will stay at the lowest CPU-speed, 312 MHz.
I hope this helps, any additional remarks are welcome.
Un saludo.

It is normal that when charger is connected tablet does not enter into deep sleep mode.if you appreciate my efforts this is the link for any donation:

Update on 1.5.1 lock up
Since my last post today I already got one lock up. I updated earlier today to 1.5.1 and added nothing else, other than letting the already installed apps update. Oh, and I enabled wireless and changed the password to a pattern. Nothing else.
I also have a 32GB MicroSD card inserted. Just to give a full description.

Any suggestion please? I'm desperate here and I refuse to go back to the stock ROM.

What format do you have the external SD. If you still have Fat32, may I suggest switching to NTFS. This may be the culprit.Randy

It was when i was using the original stock ROM i was getting the lock ups.
But since Rileys ROMs they all seem to have stopped.
I'm getting lock ups on a software called 'LINE' and have been ever since i started using it which was when i first got the tablet. But apart from LINE im not getting lock ups on other software. Maybe its something to do with LINE and the tablet being incompatible with it.
But since getting all versions of Rileys ROMs i'm not getting that constant lock up i always had.
Before using his ROMs I was forever not being able to get out of sleep mode. Had to always reset the tablet.
Someone said to me on the pipo.cn forums that disabling wifi scanning stops the freezes. But I didn't need to try that because i immediately went onto Rileys ROMs.
Hope you get the issue sorted out.

Yes...the external SD. It seems like a silly idea, but doing that solved a problem with another tablet.Randy

after I flash the rom, the tablet will be auto restart, then some message show up:
formating /data ...
formating /cache ...
formating /sdcard ... (wtf)
I have some android device, there are no format sdcard during flash rom.

I know it is confusing. Stock recovery formats your user data (where apps are stored)...your cache...and what's left over of NAND memory as your internal SD. That's mounted as sdcard. Your external SD card has to be formatted by Windows. Micro SD cards come formatted as FAT32 by default. Sometimes Android doesn't play well with FAT32. You have the option to format it to NTFS on the format window. NTFS is more stable and less likely to have corruption errors.
I have encountered lockups of Android while running an external SD card formatted to FAT32. The ultimate fix was to either remove the external SD card...or change the format to NTFS.
While this may not fix your situation...it doesn't hurt to try it. I have run this 1.5 ROM extensively, and I have not had to push reset.Randy
