You can re-enable this setting by changing a line in the build.prop:

      ro.rk.resolution_enable=false, change to =true

After a reboot you will then have the option to select HD or Normal in the display settings.

With normal mode the icons and fonts are smaller (opposite to what you would expect for lower resolution on a computer screen). I'm not sure whether it will affect performance of games etc, only made a slight difference in Antutu and Antutu still reported it as full resolution.

I think it is better using RileROM 1.4.2 that is more stable and has the possibility to switch to normal resolution without any modification.

          Internet browsers

          Hello,

What browser you are using on Pipo M6 pro (RileyROM 1.5)?
I tried several ones but I think Opera is the fastest.
Can somone share expirience or write some advice how to improve web browsing in term of speed?
Would it help to decrese resolution below normal mode, if that is posible at all?

if you want lower resolution... you have bought the wrong tablet!
The most beautiful thing on this tablet is the retina display with the amazing 2048x1536 resolution!
I don't understand why you should decrease so much the resolution.
My M6pro is able to manage such resolution perfectly! For browsing, reading and simple games I think it is PERFECT.
I'm using the stock browser and it works like a charm.

Not really a modification, just turned back on something they turned off by default. I haven't had any stability issues in 1.5.1.

I've seen (in my office) 7 Pipo M6pro and the most stable ROM version is the 1.4.x (based on ROM dated 25 November) so far. Some Pipo M6pro with Riley 1.5 / 1.1.2 stock have experienced some app lockups or crashed, but none with 1.4.x.

For this reason I can say that is more stable the 1.4.x

My 1.5.1 ROM is very stable if you format your External SD card to NTFS.

The M6 Pro tablet exhibits the same read corruption issues that earlier Rockchip devices had when using an external SD card formated to FAT32. The system tries to read or mount the drive and the error occurs and causes the tablet to lock up. By eliminating this corruption...the tablet doesn't lock up.

Several users have tested this and we have all had much better luck with this ROM.

The only drawback to using NTFS on your external SD is that CWM can't mount an NTFS drive. If you are doing NAND backups with CWM, you must do the back on your internal SD and copy the folder to your external SD. Then to restore, copy the backup from your external drive back to your internal drive. Be careful, because CWM likes to reformat your external drive back to FAT32 if you aren't careful.

I personally never use CWM for backups. I use Titanium, which works great from an external drive formatted to NTFS.

Vertical scrolling Chrome is a bit sluggish in HD, it is improved in normal mode or better with a faster browser like Dolphin. Avoid flash player if possible as crashes on full screen video, mainly because Adobe stopped updating Android version and Google not supporting it.

I use Puffin Browser on all of my Android devices when I try viewing a web page using Flash.

Puffin works great because most of the work is done by the Puffin servers.

SanDisk Ultra 32 GB MicroSDHC C10

Update on deep sleep locks. It took me few days of testing and here is the report. I reformatted my mSD card (See title for brand and type) to NTFS. That did help, but I still get some lock ups specially with prolonged standby duration only. Not as frequent as I was getting them with the card in FAT32, but they still do happen. I decided to leave the card out for few days, very prolonged standby periods, and all OK. No lock outs and no need to press reset. Sorry to say Randy, but even with NTFS the issue happens, but not as frequent. So now in search of the cause. Is it the card brand/type? applications trying to access the card? I can live with this as it is, and I'm loving 1.5.1 (even enabled HD/standard resolution, but on HD). Just the curiosity is driving me nuts as what may be causing the issue with mSD Card.

I will try to buy another card soon to test with another brand.

When I run Puffin Browser it tells me to turn off the force gpu rendering.
Will this cause stability issues with 2d Apps? Or cause more battery usage?

                                Thanks
