Anyone knows of any way to make DPI bigger on this rom? I'm using my stick in my car to mirror on my pioneer Head unit, but everything is too small to see.

I tried dpi changer apps in Playstore but they all caused SystemUI FC.

I can't also install some apps, saying it's incompatible with this device. I thought this rom had build.prop hack to make it look like a Samsung device.

Try Settings, Display, Font size or HDMI Resolutions?

DID YOU TRY FONT SIZE AND/OR HDMI RESOLUTIONS?
That's weird because my display is big in size. Use 720P on my 55" 1080P HDTV . I want to make it smaller.
Did you change anything when performing flash your stick?
I did not, except using 4GB for nand instead of default 2GB.

Haven't try font size, but did try all the different HDMI resolutions, they all looked the same on my HU.
I guess the HU is down-rez everything to it's native 800 x 400 resolution. But that should make DPI bigger should it?

I didn't change anything during flash. Let it all at default settings.

EDIT: turn-on font magnification under Accessibility. Font is bigger now, but all my icons and apps in general are very small still.

Did you check to see if your device is supported by this ROM?

What's HU? Did you check to see if your device is supported by this ROM?

Pioneer AVH-8500BHS. I see many people using MK 809III variants successfully with Finless ROM. My CX-919 is same RK3188 so I'd assume it would work the same. And yes, I have successfully flash this rom Finless 2.0 with no issues as far as flashing.

I'm beginning to think this whole experiment is futile. The CX-919 is a nice stick with Finless 2.0, but it just lack a few things I need in the car. Google Voice Search doesn't work because it doesn't have a mic. Boot time are long, I have to wait about 2 min before I can use it, unless I do permanent hard-wired. I can't install some apps for some reason even though OP said it should work. And the resolution issue is another compromise.

Oh well, I think I'm going back to Chromecast. Works better at mirroring my phone albeit with some lag.

if you are trying to connect it to 800X400 you may want to consider other ROMs.

Does it have a HDMI connector? Are you using an adapter of some sort to connect it to CX919? When you flashing it with the default you are getting 720P. You should try to install a ROM that supports 800X400 in the first place. The Finless 1.5 and downward may have that for you to choose.

Yeah, my HU has HDMI input, connect via HDMI cable, no adapter.
Default is 720P. Shouldn't the HU down size resolution anyways.
When I connect via SlimPort on my N5, I had no issues.

But whatever, I gave up on this experiment. The CX-919 is now in my bedroom. Better served there.
ChromeCast in the Car is way easier and faster to connect.

Thanks for trying to help +Andy

                    Modify build.prop for this rom

I would like to find a way to modify the build.prop file from what it now shows as a Galaxy SIII to the S4. This would allow google chromecast app to allow mirrorcast from this system, because right now the SIII is not compatible.

Is there a way to do this where it doesn't lock up at the boot screen? It's stated as below you can change the file to show the CX919 again, but what about changing it to the more recent S4 device so we can be compatible with more apps.

                    Thanks for the help.

                    8) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say "not compatible".
I am spoofing a Samsung device that will show almost any APP as compatible.
Your device will show up in google play as Samsung device not a CX-919 or RKSDK! Understand this please.
I also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
                    Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot! You should be back to showing up as a 908.
WARNING if you do this, you need to be using the 1080 kernel or your screen will be oversized!

Hello everyone. Tell me, please, faced with such a problem. My device MK908 !!. Tried many firmware: official and from Finless. All firmware when watching video in the same places freezes for 1-2 seconds. Video watched from the hard disk and internal memory. With the internal player in the TV is the video plays smoothly without freezes. Put in the settings of different resolutions 720 and 1980, all remains the same. Wanted to ask for another kernel, did everything according to instructions. But with none of the kernel patched separately MK908 !! not transmitting a signal to the TV. Can help me?

I've been trying to use this ROM (great stuff!) with the D33 kernels, but it never seems to mount the emulated SD card. Has anyone else had this issue? Any way to solve it?

As an experiment, I flashed it with the D33 kernels shipped with Finless' T428 ROM. Those mount the NAND and run incredibly smooth, but obviously lack WiFi/BT drivers.

Then I tried latest bootloader 2.13 for KK from here and it worked !! KK looks awesome on the big TV Probably, you can include this information in your sticky for users of this stick

                          Thanks for this KK ROM!

However, Wifi/BT are not working even though my chip is AP6210. Why would that be?
EDIT: Got it to work by flashing D33 kernel for J22 (aka GM282 aka CX919 II) from here

                          Thanks D33!
I tried to use the bootloader 2.13 from the link you provided but it won't open? What program do I need to be able to use this bootloader ? It shows up as a .bin file ? - thanks - a newbee

Looks like it was moved to here. Yes, it would be a .bin file and you flash it using the same batch tool (found in Finless's posts). But you need to be careful to flash the one which is compatible with Android version you have.

                              CX-919 Atrix Laptop Problem

Hi, first time poster and tinkerer here.

I just got into the CX-919/Atrix Lapdock crowd and long story short, flashed to Finless 2.0 (which looks fantastic so far!).

However, the keyboard/trackpad on the lapdock is no longer working. Using the same exact setup when it was working on the stock 4.2.2 ROM.

                              Any thoughts?

                              Thanks!

                                Works beautifully on CX-919

                                Hi:

Just a few word of thanks for a nicely working ROM I installed yesterday on my CX919. Installation procedure and package was really easy to get to work.

I installed TWRP as recovery and running with the kernel kernel_cpu1704h_gpu798h_ddr720.img. So far so good. I run at max resolution HD and the system run smooth. The pre-install root works also fine.

                                Thanks for the excellent work.
