I did step by step everything and this bug came! :-( There is no such cable "You need a USB male to male cable"!
USB to USB or A to A or male to male. They are all the same thing.

I got that also. I did my other boxes and the rest took 5 minutes or so total.

You have to open burning tool. Add image. Plug USB into computer only. Then press Start. Then plug USB cable and power cable into box at the same time. You will hear a whole bunch of noises like it's mounted and unmounted several times. The progress bar will start moving. It takes about 3 minutes per box on my computer. Once it reaches 100%, unplug the box from the computer, then hit Stop button in burning tool.

Sometimes you have to do the plugs USB and power cable at the same time step a couple of times. Just unplug, press Stop on the program, press Start and plug in again until it works.

Right now I'm 1 1/4 hours into a movie and it hasn't frozen, where yesterday my video froze in like 10 - 15 minutes.

I do still have the crashing problem on the video I've been trying with all versions. The new version shows the first screen of the movie and then crashes now. Before it would just crash and not show the first screen.

It seems to be an improvement and hopefully they will quickly resolve the major issues.

Edit: finished 2 1/4 hour movie with no issues. Put on a movie now that is almost 2 3/4 hours. So far 55 minutes in and no issues.
I do not exclude the possibility that the situation with freezing is solved. But for the test of these actions it is not enough.
What else I propose to test: check the video rewind (forward / backward) in MXPlayer when watching online video. Use Playback Settings-Level 2. In this case my box was frozen in most attempts.

For testing, this is a new version (.IMG): https://mega.nz/#!jMtWXJwI!c8GOxH2Jk...IkATwHXi-S5ao8

LibreELEC is a new compilation forked from adam88 repo. LE version is 8.9

        Android part has some changes:

1 Updated Airscreen, Netflix, Google Play Store
2 New function at Settings > More Settings: WiFi emulator (when you are connected by Ethernet, the APPs will think you are using WiFi)
3 Added "Run TWRP recovery" option from Recovery screen

        Tanix TWRP
4 remove status bar battery icon

        DOWNLOAD: https://mega.nz/#!jMtWXJwI!c8GOxH2Jk...IkATwHXi-S5ao8

is it possible to give us a .zip file for testing the new os version becouse we do not succeed with .img?

I can't see any problems installing this img file on my box..where is your problem?? Take usb burning tool and a usb - usb cable (if you got none, maybe build one off two old unneded cables..cut them that you get both usb (male) connectors and connect each wire with matching colors together and take a little tape to prevent shortcuts..), set burning tool to english, load image and press on start. Then connect the usb with your box(take the port that near cardslot, if your pc usb is weak in power add powersupply simultaneous) and flash will begin!..

.zip file please. It's easier for many users.

..maybe it needs a full image as they use a new build/fork with kodi18 on libreelec side..zip is easier-sure, but if the data from old system conflict with install via zip that won't work..do a backup of kodi via kodiaddon backup and from additional apps with titanium or similar to external hdd/pen drive or sd card as all data on emmc will be erased

Thanks for the new beta with the cool twrp included!
For now the beta works so far stable on android side(tested libreelec short, where I had a little hang in Kodi(when re-reading database of external hdd), but I could send reboot via ssh and it worked afterwards flawless..)). Did not try fake wifi option, but twrp and supersu install. Also checked dualboot and some apps on android plus android kodi for some hours now..
As someone mentioned before I'd like to have a way too, to boot from sd/usb again(or if already there, a step-by-step advise how to use!?) and sure, another approach for an android ui in 1080p would be nice too!..

I tested just the libreelec side, but there is one big problem: Can it be compiled in "arm" (32-bit) mode?

Currently it's compiled in "aarch64" mode, so a lot of things doesn't work
Libreelec standard add-on repository is not working (ERROR: CCurlFile::Open failed with code 404 for http://libreelec.adamg.co.uk/addons/...ons.xml.gz.md5)
Can't change language interface (because of the same url problem above)
InputStream & Netflix not working (AFAIK there isn't any libwidevinecdm.so compiled for aarch64

However, thank you for your hard work. Few chinese boxes had such development after the release.

                  Thank you

bodrick I have tried to give Tanix users a better support, what is not going so bad. But right now the community around the brand has grew too much that I can not handle too many feedbacks. It should be as easy as hire FAE people to manage all this. But as I said before, in China, no body will join a new company so close to New Year. Most of them because they have to finish this year to get bonus or other things. Some others because want to take rest before take a decission. It is going to take some time. What I do now is more focused on design.

baruchin takaros7 funthomaspr a .ZIP file will be uploaded after some hours.

Tanix is trying to cooperate with LibreELEC developers in a good and healty way. Releasing source code. But everything takes time.

                    Thanks.

Gracias, Javi. Still, I'm going to pass on this Beta, as I mainly use LibreElec and one post above yours says it has problems.
Thanks, and I'll patiently wait for stable release.

My box freezes when i'm watching videos and i'd like to fix it.

                          thanks.

..as all images and zips for tx3 max work also on tx3 mini(sure there is no internal bt on mini), so you could give it a try, if the new version solves your issues

Thanks huaak. I'll try it and post a feedback here if the problem will be solved.

..with this libreelec/kodi alpha the surface sometimes(4-5 times so far..) gets stuck for me(I always pressed play(ok) on next videofile from collection on external hdd with otr-recordings, screen showed filename and play icon on upper right, but nothing else happened. No key on keyboard or remote control button worked(even power not), except strg + alt + del on minikeyboard for a reboot. After reboot kodi started playing this file always flawless again. Also screensaver don't darken screen as seen on pic:

Would it be possible simply to replace the new libreelec kodi18 alpha files with some of an older version that way:
Restore old version, boot android and copy all directories with libreelec files(which are them from android side?!) to external hdd
Restore/install new version and replace with android via file manager/shell the libreelec files with those from backup on hdd..

Will it boot other "old" libreelec then, when option is selected in android?!
