        brightness?

First off, great rom, everything is smooth and stable even beyond xbmc. Question is where is the brightness setting? Videos are dark, I've looked in screen settings and xbmc video output but no brightness.

That would be a TV/Monitor setting... not a device setting... for example a VCR, DVD or BluRay player also don't have brightness settings just as the Android Media PC's don't.

what rdsok said is correct (as usually) , in addition i will say some people have tried a free app from playstore called "screen adjuster", give it a try.

Unfortunately mate this is not quite correct. My amlogic box I have that looks identical to my x-r42s has full control over these settings. Brightness, contrast, saturation etc.

It is the only box I have that does this tho but it is the only box I have with that chipset.

I will take screenys next time it is on.

Thanks for the reply, will try that app later tonight. Flumpster is right though, not all media boxes are the same. I have a Mygica ATV520 running Android 4.1.1 and it has brightness settings similar to my Android tablet.

I knew my Android smartphones have/had a brightness... but none of the 4 Android Media PC's I've had did... but it doesn't surprise me that some could have it

Daemonium recommended "screen adjuster" app made a world of difference. Just adding some contrast since brightness was maxed out really helped.

After flashing small icons package everything is a bit to small to read across the room on my 50" Sony. What can I do because I want to run the 720 ddr kernel for improved performance.

I think it'd be obvious that you'd try the large icon flash then if the small icon one is too small.

it would be obvious but it says you must flash small icon if using 720 kernel.

so I flashed and all is well. just need a fix for wireless.

last issue I have is wireless signal is not strong as it could be but all my other devices work fine. I have note 3 and note 10.1 and an ipad7 signal is about 2 bars in bedroom. The minix will connect but it takes time. some times have to reboot a few times or keep turning wifi on and off. it has the best antenna out of bunch but still fails to work as good. Sometimes just waiting a good 5 minites it kicks in

                                download/install Speedtest.net from the Play Store here******https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...dtest&hl=enI'd
I'd also suggest WiFi Analyzer******https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...er&hl=en******... this will let you see what WiFi channels are in use where you are as well as the amount of signal you are getting from the one you are connected to. Then you can move your wifi router to a clearer channel if needed and make certian you are getting as strong of a signal as you can.******

I greatly improved my wifi speed and signal strength by swapping channels.
