      Cool....
If changing the icon pack to large hasn't worked or done the trick you could edit the build.prop manually?
I think the line you need to edit says ro.sf.lcd_density or something like that ('Ive been out the dev game for a few years and I'm a little rusty!). Just increase the value by 40 say.... Then save the edit and reboot. You could play with this value until its perfect for your requirements.

Right, off to bed its nearly 2:30am in England and my kids will be awake in 5 hours

not working so well it stays connected now and connects after reboot. just extremely lagging or u have to do a google search then hit refresh to get search to work. youtube vids will not even play. it will take 2 or 3 times for me to click on my watch later list before it works. I can view this same content on all my other devices just fine. im only about 5 feet from my minix device.

Holy shit dude have you got the antenna attached correctly? Thats not good.... have you got ethernet? Also have you turned off the ethernet and bluetooth?
I get excellent wifi at 20-25foot with 65Mbs connection. I'm also using this ROM but with a OC_kernel, can't remember which though?

Actually... being too close to a router is as bad as being too far away. It overdrives the signal creating a lot of distortion. Move your router ( or the device ) away at least 10' or more.

            Other possible causes...

2.4Ghz wireless kb/mice ... use a short USB extension cable to move them away from the wifi antenna a little bit ( I usually use a 3 ft / 1 m cable )

Cordless telephones, cameras or other wireless devices using 2.4Ghz. Again, close proximity to each will overdrive the signal even if they use a different frequency in the 2.4Ghz range.

Household fans, actually their motors ... can also make a lot of "noise" in their own general area.

In most of the above cases... just moving whatever the item is away 3-5' is enough.

Ok.. I won't mince my words...

Either you have a bad unit... or you have a conflict/interference issue like the ones I listed. The Neo x7 has had the best wifi connection I've seen on the 4 Android Mini-PC devices I've owned... and is very close if not as good as the 3 different Motorola Smartphone's. Since conflicts and interference are the most common causes... that is where I'd focus right now if it were me.

We can offer possible suggestions/solutions... but it will be up to you to test for or check to see if they are valid in your situation. You saying that it's having an issue ( again ) isn't helping... we know that or you wouldn't have posted about it.

If you do have that many devices with wifi all in that one area... turn the others off while you test... they are certainly likely to add to the trouble more than to help. Diagnostics in these situations is always a process of elimination... once you have eliminated everything everly thing else ... the last thing you've got should be the culprit... if you overlook something though, you can easily misinterpret the results and blame the wrong thing also... so you must be thorough.

Just joined to say thanks for an excellent Rom. I was rather disappointed with my X7 when I plugged it in out of the box.

The only problem I have is with the Rii i25 remote, all the buttons work fine except for the home button (Rf button). It opens the browser rather then going to the home screen. I have read alot of posts and blogs but can not find an easy fix.

Also I had alot of trouble getting my the update utility to see my X7 until I found a post informing a person to edit the line in the config file to true or in this Rom 1, so it allows low powered usb ports. Maybe this could be set as default or a note placed in the how to flash information. Took me alit of searching to find the information.

Thanks again look foward to V3, keep up the amazing work.

Sounds like you need to re-read through the first 4 posts of the thread because you have missed some points on them. The very first post mentioned a utility by Tinycore called Keymapper that can help you remap just about any key, mouse or joystick input to whatever key or function you'd like.

Here is the back story about the home key issue so you know why it is what it is. The industry standard function for the home key on any other operating system has always been to go to the default home page of the default web browser. Android deviated from this slightly by also have a home screen for the default launcher as well as a home page for the browser. So now the keyboard companies have to either map the key for the industry standard which applies to every OS out there ( ie the home page )... or just cater to a single OS such as Android and map it to mean the home screen instead.

Buying a Neo X7 today just because of this rom. Thanks for the great work, guys!

I'm a bit of a noob though. I'm getting confused with the kernel, rom talk. Are these 2 different things? Can I use this rom with the stock kernel? How can I change kernels?

The ROM contains a kernel as well.. so it's a complete download as it is. The other kernels provided gives you many options for the speed of the kernel... They have different CPU, GPU and/or DDR ( memory ) speeds and you select the one that works best on your device once you have it. The kernels the provided are based on the stock kernel but with some additional tweaks ( like the speed ) to them.

Every device differs slightly... so each one is more or less stable at a particular clock speed. The idea is to select the one that gives you the best performance without causing yours to become unstable. So you'll be able to use the stock speeds no question... the other kernels will give you options to increase those speeds in areas that may benefit your system.

Read ( or re-read ) the first four posts... they give you a little more info of what is available and what they recommend

                              X7 switches off

                              Hello all,

I have a problem with the quick shot rom, the system switches off after few minutes of inactivity. the debugger 'stay awake' option is already on.. any idea about this? because of this i have to manuall switch on the power button every time..

                              Thanks and Regards,
                              jo
