I don't see much of a difference must be me. I just have been told by people that they think the x7 is slow compared to the ouya and want to know how to make it faster

we had this behavior on just one of our A2 while we were testing the rom, tested on computer and it was the same so, bad unit. can you test it on another Android device or computer?

I just tested it on my laptop and it isn't as bad as on the Minix but it does have some of the same symptoms. If I start with the mouse cursor dead center on the screen and go right and left many times and never get to the edge of the screen, it will drift where the mouse pointer is very close to one side of the screen after a while even when pointing the mouse to the center.

On the Minix, it is much more severe. If I move left and right about 10 times, the mouse cursor eventually drifts off screen.

So do you think it is a defective A2? I just bought it and can return it to amazon for a replacement since it is only about a week old.

Unstable ethernet

The ethernet connection is very unstable. I have tried replacing the cable and have tried other computers on the same switch port and cable and only the minix is unstable.

When going to settings -> Ethernet I watch the IP address come and go every few seconds. Likewise the network symbol on the bottom status bar keeps vanishing, turning white, then blue, then white, then vanishing and so on.

When watching a netflix movie, it often stops and says buffering. I can see that the light on the switch port is off when this happens. It seems it is falling asleep like maybe a power saving feature??? Is there some way to tell it to just stay on always and never sleep?

I have also tried assigning a static IP but it didn't make any difference. The WIFI does not have this problem and is very stable.

HD version of Netflix? APK avaliable?

Does anyone know where I can find an HD version of netflix?

I was previously running a GoogleTV Sony NSZ-gx7 and when browsing movies, it would indicate which movies had SD, HD, and SuperHD. Also it would indicate which had 2ch audio and which had 5.1. With this version of netflix on the Minix, there is no indication.

The good news is that the 5.1 audio is working properly, I just don't know which movies have it until I start watching and detect it with my ears.

The bad news is that the video seems to never be SuperHD.

Is there an apk available with the HD version that has all the above features?

I have done that many times each day. Each time I start using it, it drifts again within minutes.

Another symptom which I just assumed is the nature of an airmouse is.. when I move beyond the edge of the screen and come back, it is off by the same distance that I went beyond the screen edge. To correct it, I have to move beyond the other side of the screen. Either that or move the mouse to center, turn off the mouse, point to the center and turn it back on again. Is this behavior normal?

I kind of expected that to be normal but when I don't go beyond the edge of the screen, it still drifts, that seems to be a problem with either the mouse or minix and I am just trying to determine which.

Restart doesn't help. In fact it is worse after a restart than it is after it has been running for a while. Also if I turn off ethernet and back on, it will be the worst right after turning it back on. It seems to stabalize after it has been on for 15 minutes or more. But still drops from time to time.

My A2 works great, the design is not the best for my use, but it is pecise and works well, I suggest you replace it by amazon, mine was calibrated first time and rarely it needs to recalibrate again. I can't experience the battery dry too, so I suppose I am very lucky with my remote.

About the Ethernet, I use WiFi most of time, no Ethernet port available near my main tv, so I only use Ethernet while we make the custom ROM to test if it works, and never noticed drops, I will test it with more attention today, I use automatic IP by dhcp, no fixed IP.

Security warning 1th post

I am very interested in this release, but notes i read a security warning, regarding installation from CWM

stating:
"... if you are coming from another rom we can not guarantee That the process works properly. It That may be the size of the system partition is smaller than the stock one so inquire before." ...

Exactly, what is the size of the Quickshot V2 system partition? What should be the size host device system partition ? How to calculate it?

A2 would be excellent if someone could disable all air mouse in xbmc.. As it's not just A2 air mouse that comes on when woke up. They all do! Needs to mature.

using: Minix neo x7 - Quickshot v2, same issue also on STOCK FW
Projector with 1080p FULLHD


Im facing issue that all webpages are too big, iven im on 1080p and with "small icons ROM" webpages are like 640x480 in Doplhin, FF no clue how to resize pernamently...

Found a fix for web page issue Works only in FF, if you know any other way, let me know..
Seems its working randomly, as i load new pages it jumps back to "BIG" pages view

Its pretty annoying that all is that big, not really good to browse or read, i hope that someone sort it out already.
Would like to have i default for all android apps, not only FF related.
