Update 3: It is as smooth as Finless rom, I was using the wrong video to test. Well done, you should post your firmware as a separate thread on the forum to help other misguided Q7 users.
Thanks glad it is working for you............ I think unless an admin here deems it worthy of its own thread that should prolly leave as is. There are so many threads going on about this style of TV box hard to justify another one.

    Cheers

What really sucks is i think my box is fried i think my brother put a different power adapter to it and by the time i found it it was way over heated let it cool down and plugged the right power converter and it would turn red on the power button and get hot fast tried to plug it up agian and now it doesent even light up !

I actually prefer to install Linux on this device. It can be a great little computer.

            Whats done:
kernel is vidsync patched and overclocked to gpu 798 ddr 800 cpu stock
            some useless apps deleted
added some useful apps wifianalyser and beyond xbmc (Thanks Flumster!!)
changed bootanimation to something I like better
Think you will find 1080 and 720 movies will play smooth now no micro skipping. Flash at your own risk hopefully your box will not explode..............
            download from here:

This is not rooted and i have no idea on sound config just run thru the tv hdmi
Thats all hopefully helps a few.

              Hi
Could you please confirm if your Q7 bluetooth works or not? What about wifi and ethernet?
What's would be the number of Android kernel ? I bought from Geekbuying and not sure if this one has the same ROM.

All should work if on the bottom of your case it reads as model Q7. This firmware is based on the stock firmware from geekbuying.com for this device.

I might just add that my case had no sticker on the bottom, i had to open the case and look at the pcb to see that it was infact a 'q7'.

I suspect bad power supply try to find a good 5v 2amp psu and I bet boot looping disappears. I had to replace mine within a month as it burn't out never had any boot looping issues since.

                          Cheers,

                                True Passthrough on this ROM?

Is anyone able to get true SPDIF passthrough using this ROM using Beyond XBMC 3.4? If so what settings are you using in the Sound Device settings and in XBMC?

All I get is the raw data noise when trying, it's as if my receiver can't decode the signal. Settings I'm using are:
                                - SPDIF Optical cable running out of Q7 box straight into receiver
                                - Rockchip-SPDIF Passthrough in sound device settings
                                - Optical/Coax / 5.1 channels / with AC3, DTS and AAC enabled
                                - Sound device - Android
                                - Passthrough Sound device - Android(PT)

If anyone has gotten 5.1 to work on these Q7's I'd like to know which version of XBMC you're running!

                                Thanks
