Q7 Rk3188 Device - What Works & Help Please?

Will either of these firmwares allow overclocking?

q7 probably have rk3188t so i dont think overlocking is a way to go with this chip
but i can set minimum frequency to 1gz so firmware will be more responsive.

With my firmware you will be able to mount samba shares as local drive via script (easy). It will always mount at startup, no aditional apps needed.

I have made a custom rom for these q7 machines. This rom is based on the latest standard from geekbuying.com. This is by no stretch of the imagination equal to what the professional rom developers do here but a quick fix to make the box usable for 720p and 1080p streaming video until Lewy or someone else steps in.
Whats done:
kernel is vidsync patched and overclocked to gpu 798 ddr 800 cpu stock
some useless apps deleted
added some useful apps wifianalyser and beyond xbmc (Thanks Flumster!!)
changed bootanimation to something I like better
Think you will find 1080 and 720 movies will play smooth now no micro skipping. Flash at your own risk hopefully your box will not explode..............

This is not rooted and i have no idea on sound config just run thru the tv hdmi

I Have a q7 sent from china via amazon, worked great out of the box. Beyond xbmc played 1080 perfectly as far as i could see. However, Wanting to learn a bit I decided to root and flash a rom.
Came across yours and it works perfect on 720 but when i set screen to 1080 Everything has a flicker every 10-15 secs, even when idle on home screen, or running any app. Not complaining, Im glad i tried it and succeeded . Same box as most mentioned on this thread with Q7 as model underneath. Thanks for your hard work .

Will give lewy20041`s rom a try when he releases it.

Mine is definitely a 3188T, but I'd read on another thread of some 3188Ts being able to handle overclocking.

Probably the exception mind you, or they wouldn't be marked as "T". Be nice to try it and see.
