Hi guys,
First post here and already it is to ask for some help.
I got a Minix Neo X7 mini this week and I want to install this ROM.
I started the process by Erasing IDB and trying to install the firmware but during the process of installation I got an error saying that the Download of something failed (I can't remember what and I already closed the app so I don't think there's a log where I can see that)
I've tried two methods already:
- The first time I used the cwm method by putting the zip file on the device, rebooting into recovery and then proceed to install. Everything went fine with just 1 thing to note - I can't use the device since it won't boot and just stays still on the sreen with "Minix" written on it and a Android doll. It won't get passed that.
- The second time I tried the method of installing it from the PC. Since I have a Mac I've been using a VM with windows XP.
I installed the drivers and started RKAndroid Tool, the device got recognized and so I proceeded to erase the IDB. Just after that, and since I had no errors erasing the IDB, I clicked on the install button, got a few steps into the process and the I got an error message saying that the download of some component failed.
Since then, I've been unable to make RKAndroid recognize the device, boot into recovery or anything else.
When I disconnect the device and then connect it again I apparently get the computer to detect it since it asks me to which computer I want to connect the device to - OSX or the Windows machine inside the VM (I always choose to connect to the VM) - but still RKA won't detect the device.
Given this, I'm in dire need of your help to get it to work again.
I'm putting the log here in the hope that someone can make sense of it.
I've already tried a few methods that had work for some people on the "normal" X7 and every single time I just can't make anything of it.
Can anyone help me please? How can I get it to work again, even if it's for the stock firmware? None of the tools recognize the minix anymore.

look for a computer with Windows xp, forget about VM at this moment. Look here at freaktab for the short nand pins method and apply it.
Be sure the nand is the same.

Hello!
first than all, thank you for your excellent work.
regretfully, I'm writing because I need a bit of assistance.
I ended up with a boot loop after installing.. but I had issues.
I currently only can enter CWM recovery after pressing the reset button for 2-3 secs after I plug in the power cord of x7-mini; the files for installation are inside the x7-mini but the system somehow can't see them (file too big.. above 300 MB, same as quickshotv2 rom). Fortunately I have a backup,
I managed when it was on stock rom, to
- root the minix
- install cwm
- reboot into recovery
- take a backup of the system as it was before attempting to push via 'adb push'
I copied the files for installing via USB-OTG mount for running from CWM, but the recovery can't see them, but my computer can perfectly see the files (win7 x64, used moborobo to root and install cwm after I had no success with the RKAndroidTool).
via adb push I managed to get cwm-recovery to install the rom via sideload but after rebooting is stuck in boot loop
Any ideas/ways to either:
- complete install of Quickshot
- go back to the backup as it was before... so I can try again.
- maybe do I have to copy files back to PC, fully re-partition the storage mem of the x7-mini, and then try to push via sideload?
I was never able to use the rockchip program though
now.. if there is a way to get it to work with the x7-mini in CWM-recovery, it would be nice to know.
thank you in advance.
