Kitkat Kernels for All (well most!)

Does anyone got any kitkat rom (neomode or finless) work on an mk802iv with 3.xx or 4.xx kernels? Because i tried everything and my stick doesn`t boot at all. Any ideas?

Both should work fine unless you got a clone.

Anyone else experiencing video apps to freeze or buffer more often then with previous roms or kernels?

This new rom from #69 is freezing on a lot of apps. Apps start buffering, while the wifi signal is very strong and bluetooth is disabled.

Can I use this kernel with the beta kitkat from finless? Or do I need another bootloader for this kernel?

Or does anyone have another official rom for me that I could try?

If only it were so simple! Neomode, Ray and I are struggling with a variety of compatibility issues that currently we can't pin down. The great thing is that Eric at Geekbuying and Michelle from RKM are providing valuable support by donating kit for us to work with.

The majority of problems are solvable, the difficulty is time. There are 20+ developers on this site but we all have private lives, specialities and interests. Hence it is difficult to get a group of us working on the same problem at the sametime.

"Beta" ROMs -> beta source kernels (2.x/3.x)

"Official" ROMs -> April SDK code (4.x)

Coding is never simple with so many minor hardware differences so i feel your pain.

I gotten lucky in that both my MK802IV are less a pain then most..one overclocks to the moon and back and the other only had issues with gpu overclocking.

I have noticed even though the screen does seem to freeze for some the android does seem to be doing its normal business in the background and completing a boot?

My mk802IIIs was a pain with it never remaining stable and crashing if left idle for too long.

Next purchase is likely a vega do to its sheer power.

@noderat, thank you for generating the different OC kernels. I saw you have a new list for V4 TV-BOX. Are you going to generate the same V4 kernels for TV-STICK? Really appreciate your work.

I feel so ripped off with my cx919-ii. Really love the work you guys are doing, but I wish it would work properly out of the box.
The best rom for me has to be finless 2.0 beta. I'll go back to kernel 2.7 then I guess

@Max One, are you also having problems with streams not loading, freezing or what so ever with this new ROM?

The stock rom works fine. I have a rikomagic mk802iv, with 3188T i suppose. I flashed the firmware with the stock kernel, neomode and finless, and everything was fine, then i flashed only the kernel from d33 and i couldn`t even boot. no hdmi signal at all.
With 2.xx d33 kernels everything was fine.

I have a MK908II, and I tried both tester kernels, they don't boot. I am using the V4 kernel for TVSTICK now, it has the boot problem, but after it boots, everything is fine.

I think those two alternete kernels are broken the no gpu overclock one on post 725 does work.

Noticed a minor odd behavior with the 4.0 kernel.

Youtube when playing full screen goes dim just like when your not using the device.
Doesn't seem to happen with other payers like plex or mxplayer.

I connected webcam logitech C270 to my MK908II running "official" KK ROM and D33's V4 OC kernel. It works.....but everything is so dark. Camera is not very important for me, but it would be nice to get it working. I am using the google camera app from play store.
