lol. you found the truth behind the lie. That is right we were all ripped off, if you do not believe me google the part number on your RAM chip. Or alternatively you can fool yourself and download and install this ROM cyxtech_rk31_809iii_140808_4.4_yjt_2gddr.rar I will not link to it but it is on this thread. and you can enjoy the imaginary 1GB of extra
    RAM

According to all the information I can find on the internet your lan adapter uses a chipset qf9700 therefore it should work as long as you are using D33 latest kernel or one of mine. I do know that it works, so you have either got a faulty lan adapter or you are using D33 Test7 kernel. alternatively your Usb_Otg adapter could be faulty and the last and final possible theory is that it does not use the chipset qf9700 in that case I would need a DMESG to know what is happening

I have found that some kernel use dynamic operation on the frequency of the CPU

iddle at 300MHz and some levels even 1400MHz in full use for example

Is it possible with this kernel to avoid the useless consumption / heat / premature wear ?

    nb: sorry for google translate
all the roms that I have tested using KitKat seem to do this even with the stock kernel, so therefore it has got to be the ROM, and as I cannot find a ROM to modify that does not do this, that I trust, there is not much that I can do

      farewell

unfortunately it is time for me to leave this project, it as been fun but the truth is this android stick does not belong to me, it belongs to a very close friend of mine , and I was just helping them out. It as been a long road just to even flash the stick I was provided with as the USB_OTG was disabled. Have a look here and you will see what I mean http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post226909 my friend wants the stick back now as it works, they have been good enough to let me keep it for nearly a extra week now and it is time for it to go home. I just hope that I have helped some people along the way

Thank you Sam much appreciated all the hours you have spent on this.

Think we need a thread what clone sticks to stay clear of, and where to buy originals from.

It's an absolute minefield and only due to people like yourself, people would be at a loose end.

Thank you very much for all the time spent on this project, you and D33 made a great work.

We now have a fully kitkat working rom with some goodies.

I would realy appreciate it when i will change my old HD ready TV, but you probably save this stick from trash for many users

            Thank you very much

2 ir does not recognize my USB to ethernet cable, would you be so kind as to review it? thank you very much.
Why would you run that setup if you are using USB to Ethernet?

Surely going Sams kernel + custom 1080p rom would give you a much better result, at least you could watch 1080p at 1080p on XBMC now that ram speed has been seemingly fixed?

The only reason I could see to use Sams rom would be if you needed to keep Wifi and BT.

Edit: Also big thanks to Sam and d33 for getting something respectable from this device, incidentally Sam, did you modify the device in anyway before giving it back? The one I had couldn't be the only one who's crumbled with moderate stress testing.
              Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III

What is the Rom + Kernes recommended for this hardware? I will use in the future only ethernet.

Thanks a lot for the kernel with FTDI.
It seems to work fine, I can see my device well recognize in dmesg .. :-).

Many thanks to you and D33 for your work and the time spent.

surprisingly it is the only thing I found effective, it has two purposes, one to isolate the metal from the electronic circuitry, and two to increase pressure on the back of the android stick therefore giving the thermal pad more pressure between the Heat sink and CPU, it does not matter what it looks like as I made them a custom case so they cannot see it
