according to this page http://www.nextbookusa.com/productde...?product_id=19 we are suppose to be updated to 4.4.2 but the tablet keeps saying the current version is the latest version, has anyone dowloaded the image from the support page here. http://www.nextbookusa.com/download.php rhis is for the nextbook 8 model NX785QC8G

Read it all before installing... there are some problems with the official update.

wow i thought these tablets notified you when they got to 15% battery life i was watching a movie and all the sudden it said plug in charger and shut down. when i plugged it in it said battery was 0% i was like what. not good at all i hope it charges back up.

I no longer have this tablet they lie about storage or they got a bad batch here i installed one app and it was full no storage left, so i took it back and all of them were like that at my local store. so goign to get me a better device latter on down the line any really good ones i should look for.

I need to do some more experimenting with mine, as I've also wondered if there is a bug involved... but the big problem is that they have 8GB TOTAL storage...

Almost 5GB is assigned to the "internal" SD card, which is way too much for a device with an external SD card slot. Not all apps can be installed here and most install by default to the data partition.

Only about 1GB is assigned to data, which is most apps and other stuff gets stored.

The rest of the storage is reserved for the firmware.

Android doesn't support installing apps on external SD card when an internal SD card exists. The system just doesn't currently support multiple SD card locations for Apps. So even if you get a 16, 32 or 63 GB external SD card... you can only use it for file downloads, photos, videos, etc...

The good news, is that a custom ROM can reallocate some space from the internal SD card to the data partition, swap the internal and external mount points, or eliminate the internal SD card partition entirely and use the external SD card for some apps.

Just got one of these to replace the NX008HD8G when I cracked the screen. Anything I can do with this virgin to help? Hoping to see Cyanogen or PA for it soon.

Ill keep checking back. Here is a cpuz dump of the build specs http://valid.x86.fr/a/jk650v Gonna try and grab a build.prop if I can and do a system dump if possible. Haven't rooted it yet though.

No worries... I bought one of these as soon as they came out and started working on it a few days ago when the update came out.

Ok..New twist....I did a reset and now after reinstalling my apps everything is fine until.........I reboot then it says apps not installed for most if not all of the apps I just installed. Anybody else seeing this issue? It did not do this prior to firmware upgrade. Ideas? Suggestions?

I'm not having that problem.

Did you do the factory reset and erase internal SD from settings after the upgrade?

Yes

I first thought it might be Nova Launcher causing the problem, so went back to the stock launcher but the problem still persists
