I will backup kasty rom and flash this one again. Then verify my BT sound. If ok all finished, if not I'll do has you suggested. I won't leave any file and I'll backup it on my PC. Than I'll restart and see if it works.

    If not, back to kasty

I prefer this rom because it seems much more stable than kasty's. I think it has something to do with me having a Mele F10 which might cause some freezing/reboot mostly when clicking back button alot.

Let's see. Nevertheless thanks for your support

EDIT: I've just flashed this rom and was able to replace libmedia.so.No go... can't even pair my headset...

Might be kernel related?! I think I'll have to stick with Kasty's... and try to fix the random reboots...
It's not kernel related, because the kasty rom uses the same Minix X5 stock kernel. Some people use the app soundabout to switch sound, maybe that helps?

Sweet rom its working fine One issue for sure now that i have on 3 boxes is that the 1080p gives off some articfacting if set at 60 htz 50 nothing 24 nothing. i set at 720 as no need here for 1080 anyways and working fine now on 3 machines video great and streams nice. xbmc and gotham both working (sorry was update on server at xbmc that gave previous issues)

Would recommend this rom to all x5 users stable and smooth and faster then anything now out for it. Breath of fresh a new Rom for a year old device is always welcome!!!!! Hats off to all involved....... Sweet.

My problem now is that i can't even pair my headset... It says "pairing" and then BT disconnects and connects again... If i would find what controls BT drivers i could try and port from kasty rom to solve my bt problems. I can connect my nexus 4 easily...

So Bluetooth working just can't connect that device? Weird maybe adding drive to build?

I've now tested this ROM a little bit, it is really superfast and smooth! The only problem I have right now is that I can't get spotify to work. : (

When I try to start it up i only see a box with the text "No SD card found, we found no place to store our data," I Googled it and for some it helped to uninstall it and reinstall it again, but it did unfortunately not help me = (

You'll just have to format nand. Storage->tap nand it pops saying to format it. Than you'll have sdcard available

Been few days still rock solid if hardware guru can fix the artifacting in 1080 @60hz. then this rom confirmed best one ive used on the x5 to date Fast and clean everything i have works new life for a year old box great to see.

Ill ask hardware guru if he has time to check into it.

                      Hi Karel,

Can you provide a 1080 kernel and boot img for this?

                      Thank you in advance

Then I thought lets combine the X5_4.2.2_006 stock kernel with the system.img of the X7 HWG Beta 04a.Rev2 rom.

The result is a very stable rom! (haven't had any crashes so far).

I added an updated "rkxx-remotectl.kl" and support for xbox360 controllers. Next to that I added XBMC Gotham 13.1 beta 2 which enables DD5.1 and DTS passthrough. And I updated the Airpin Pro to version 2.3.5.

The rom must be flashed with the Finless Flash Tool.

So if you're looking for a rom that support HLS/Smoothstreaming (used for many live streaming apps) why not try this rom.

                      INSTALL NOTES
When opening the flash tool first click on Erase NAND, then select the bootloader file and check the box, then flash all (including loader and all .img and parameter files).

Then after reboot wait for about 10 minutes (so that the added xbmc and airpin can be installed)

                      Have fun with it!

Credits for enabling HLS/Smoothstreaming and the system.img go to HardwareGuru.
Credits for patching libmedia.so and enabling DD5.1/DTS passthrough go to Stafstrom.
Credits for XBMC Gotham 13.1 beta 2 go to the XBMC team and jmcm66 for compiling XBMC.

Karel, do you know what drivers/libs control BT interface?

Perhaps i would be able to port them from kasty to this rom. BT problem is very strange as i can pair my nexus4...

I love the stability of this rom but BT headset is a must have so i don't wake my son

Karal did not provide the kernel that the stock minix released kernal it could be done by unpacking hardware guru x7 rom and latest minix rom then repack minix 1080p kernel into x7 rom.

                          Regards.

Minix X5 4.2.2 ROM with HLS streaming

I will create a 720p and a 1080p 4.2.2 firmware (single update.img files) that you can flash with the Rockchip batch tool v1.7.
                            The rom will be:
                            - Debloated
                            - Xbox controller compatible
                            - DTS/DD5.1 passthrough enabled (libmedia.so patch)
                            - Homemade patched XBMC (13.1RC1) for passthrough
                            - Airpin 2.3.5

I also enabled/fixed formatting the internal sdcard. I will upload it today.
