Hey, i don't use netflix so i can't test it.

And I'm not at home now to test it.

It's better to unpack it over linux but you can also do it on windows.

You can use python and FreakTabKitchen here

For an extra test, i''ve downloaded the 720p rom from kasty (found it on artablet.com). Works fine, boot ok, but still no Netflix.

Redglory, how did you manage to combine? Cant unpack the update.img, so i have to flash with the rockchip-tool.
Can you tell me that if you use every img from kasty 720p, an use the system.img from Karel, that Netflix works fine (as in starts a movie in stead of loading all the time)?

And if so, how do i unpack the img from kasty?

      thnks in advance..
You can extract the img files with this tool: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...Firmware-Tools

The files in the download link are the stock files combined with the HLS enabled system.img.
First time booting it always boots to recovery to format data and cache partitions.

Installing it the way mentioned in the readme.txt works on mine X5 ;-)

            Hi karel,

Sure would like to see this ROM for the X5 Mini version. I have tried your previous releases, but the Mini kept booting to Recovery.

What rom did you have installed before flashing this one? Kasty?

One last option is to download the latest minix x5 stock rom (006) from the minix website. Then flash that rom with the rockchip batch tool.
After the stock rom has installed then you flash ONLY the system.img of the zip file included in the first post (check if the parameter of system.img is set to 0x0091C000) with the finless flash tool. This is a little bit of a workaround, but this should work.

I can confirm from my previous testes this works.

Same here, still booting to recovery..

It has a menu, version 4.2.51, en select te first option, reboot... no go...
power off, restart... still in recoverymode..... !@#$%

Now extract the original rom, and replace the system.img with Karels...

This time it has to work.

                        1. Install stock rom.
                        2. Open finless flash tool and choose parameter from stock rom and system.img from HLS in this thread.
                        3. Flash it and try netflix
                        4. Enjoy (we hope)!

meh, just tried this but now it just hangs in the minix/hdmi logo screen. No recovery screen or anything else.

Did you wait enough time for it to enter launcher?! It hangs on Minix logo for a while... the first time...

If you still have micro usb cable connected you notice windows recognizes Minix moments before it enteres initial launcher.

                            Or else you could:

                            1. Choose kasty's parameter
                            2. Erase Nand
                            3. Flash stock rom
                            4. Flash HLS system.img WITHOUT erasing NAND with stock parameter

                              Yep, i'm running!
                              my trace:
                              - downloaded the original fw from minix
                              - extracted it with firmwaretool from Sergio RK30xx-RK31xx Firmware tools
(put the extractor in c:\, dirname without spaces, and put the fw.img in the same dir)
                              - put every img in an subdirectory, execept the system.img
                              - added the system.img from Karel
                              - erased the NAND with the finless tool
                              - flashed al files form the new sybdirectory with the Finless tool

voila! And it doesnt even boot in recovery the first time...
And now Netflix is acting like before...

Only one thing, Karel added the Gotham version of XBMC. Was not sure, so i deleted that one, and added the XBMC version created by Minix. also because of my backup of XBMC.

Very happy! thanks all..... hope ik can help others with my comments and testing...

Hey thanks alot! I did exactly that and it worked! ...just installed Netflix from Google Play store and all working fine in 1080

The odd thing about this is that I did have the same combination of files in the finless flasher before, but they were all scattered across my desktop in different folders. All I did was move all the 006 1080 stock files except the system.img into one folder in my D:\ harddrive root, copied Karel's 0.9 system.img into the same folder, cleared nand and flashed rom. Boots fine without recov and system seems alot faster and smoother overall (but that's from the last 15 minutes). So the only difference was moving all the files into one folder and putting it in the root of the hd. What Charley8900 said, it's probably something with pathnames with spaces and such..weird tho because I never got any errors before when flashing with finless.

Thanks a million Karel! (and everyone else for the help) Finally Netflix on a big screen in the living room again woohoo
