Minix X5 4.2.2 ROM with HLS streaming

Option 2 went ok. I've flashed official stock rom and booted ok.

Than went to option 4 and used your parameter )which is exactly the stock rom parameter) and flashed system_1080p.img.

Got same problem... only boot to recovery...

Tried system_720p.img same thing.

Then i just unpacked stock rom, used 1.22 loader instead on 1.34 and chose every file except system.

I erased nand, flashed system_1080p.img and voila. It booted ok!

1st problem, my launcher was all messed up. Bar on the right side vertically, search on the left... all messed up! I let it install everything and booted. Same thing...

Finally i chose system_720p.img and flashed and all went as expected...

now my only problem... i can pair my headset,it says paired but i don't get to connect it... I can't access its options (phone audio and media audio won't show) because it isn't connected...

So long story short... I got to flash this rom but same BT headset problems... Getting tired...

What were the files patched in this system.img? Can i try to patch original rom and see if i get BT to work?

The 1.22 loader is actually the 1.34 loader (you can check that by selecting the file in the finless flash tool).

I don't know what files were patched, because the X7 rom was made by HardwareGure. I (and also some others) have asked HardwareGuru what files needed to be patched to enable HLS, but he never gave any answers. It could also be that he used the minix stock X7 6c rom (also enabling HLS) that was a 4.2.2 firmware with some 4.1.1 code patches. It could also be that the bluetooth device you have isn't supported and the bluetooth device scooter2014 uses is supported in this rom.

Nevertheless my BT headset is a must have so i'm stuck to kasty's.

I've read an tried everything in this topic, but no succes..
If using the rom-flashtool 137, the Minix Neo x5 only starts in recoverymode. tried 720 and 1080.

Then read the comment of Redglory, but i'm missing something?
- flashed the original with rockchip batch tool v1.7 (system starts ok, but still no working netflix)
- started finless flashtool
- erased nand
- unchecked everything but the system.img and selected system_720p
-flashed

but now the system won't start at all?
What am i doing wrong here? Just want to have hls working so netflix wil start a movie...

back tot stock-rom, my kids are getting unpatient.. icefilms on xbmc works fine...

2. choose everything from unpacked Stock ROM on finless flash tool, apart from the system.img
3. select system_720p.img or system_1080p.img from this HLS ROM (1080p for me didn't work as expected...).
4. Erase nand.
5. flash everything

Regarding my problem, I'm going to try something like this

And also other sound/bluetooth apps...

If everything fails I'll have to stay with Kasty's and its random reboots (I think it has something to do with my Mele F10 air mouse conflicting with minix...)

The file X5.4.2.2_20140306.img, that i've downloaded from http://www.minix.com.hk/Support.htm cant be unpacked? tryed isobuster, utraiso... even renaming it to iso, but no succes... any suggestions how to obtain the img's en parameter files?

It is still weird because all (parameter, boot.img, kernel.img, recovery.img, loader_V1.22 (renamed to V1.34), misc.img) files in the package are all from the stock roms except the system.img. So it's very strange that in your case after flashing all files it boots to recovery.

The only thing changed is renaming the bootloader. So I changed that name back to V1.22 and will repackage and upload all tomorrow. Also I remove the system_1080p.img (with densitity set to 240) because it doesn't show right.

Does the system_720p.img display correctly using the 1080p kernel?

I will also remove the one in all .img files, because people are having trouble with it booting to recovery everytime.

Do you also have BT issues when you don't use (disconnect) the Mele F10?

Sorry i cant be active here a lot.
At the moment i have more work then time

@karel; use the original X5 boot.img and replace the x7 rom modules with the X5 rom modules.
I havent tried anything but that is where i would start looking...that might work.

down loaded pack mini doesnt boot unly back to recovery 720-1080 same results noticed changed cwm maybe ? i try mini 720 package now.

I have updated the link in the first post (v0.9). I included the modules from the Kasty rom into this rom. So this might work for your bluetooth issue!

For now I also removed the big package, because some were having issues (reboot to recovery) with it.

Flashed complete rom .img same result. Back to recovery...

Then flashed with finless flash tool and chose everything from stock and your system.img and went ok.

I can't understand why but my headset doesn't even connect... And i did the same thing you did. Grabbed stock lib/modules and mounted system and overwrite everything on previous flash and at least i could connect headset but still no sound...

Getting sick of this... *sigh*

For an extra test, i''ve downloaded the 720p rom from kasty (found it on artablet.com). Works fine, boot ok, but still no Netflix.

Redglory, how did you manage to combine? Cant unpack the update.img, so i have to flash with the rockchip-tool.
Can you tell me that if you use every img from kasty 720p, an use the system.img from Karel, that Netflix works fine (as in starts a movie in stead of loading all the time)?

And if so, how do i unpack the img from kasty?
