I was waiting for mine to be delivered today but those idiots from DHL are like coming when I left the house, all day they didn't show up and they came when I left the house for 15 min now I have to go tmorrow to pick it up .

My three boxes were just delivered to my office - I have already tried one on my work monitor - sweeeeeeeet!!!!!!

First little review

Got mine yesterday. (-H Version). Ordered via Aliexpress shipped by DHL to Germany.
I already own a non-H version, so I knew what to do :-)

Installed Finless 1.5 ROM, and played around with the thing.
Installed various stuff from playstore with no problem, Antutu gave me 32200 points which is quite nice.
Installed XBMC 13.1 beta2 with no hiccups. Even my beloved (and wife compatible) Amber skin is working as it should.
I do use PlexBMC as my favorite XBMC video add-on on the Vega. This runs flawlessly. Even my largest movies (around 20GB/hour) are running. Changing the language during playback lets the little box stutter for around 2-3 seconds, which isn´t too bad.

As for live-TV streaming, I am using the VU+ add-on (PVR-addon) inside XBMC. This runs great. I tested it both via 5G wireless network as well as D-LAN (LAN via power-outlets). Both with no problem at all.

There is just one thing that I was not able to really get completely rid of. That lip-sync. It´s not a problem when streaming via Plex Media Server, but it is when using my VU+ to stream live-TV. I had to adjust the lip-sync for the audio everytime I switched from one channel to another.

I do not know if this is a problem of XBMC or of the plugin or the box. I guess I have to fiddle around with that a bit more to finally know how to get rid of this.

One more thing I recognized was/is that the H-version of the box does get a little hotter than the non H-version. Don´t know why this is, but as long as everything is running i don´t care.

So, one last wish to those guys from china... Let us have better remote controls. Save the money for those in the package, please, they don´t suit the greta product you are selling here...

Nice. This product seems like a no brainer for me. I have one question though. Does netflix stream 5.1 audio ? And can it decode it or better yet, pass through ? That would make it a perfect replacement for my HTPC.

Can´t say anything about Netflix, because I am not using this.
Passthrough works great. I own a Bose T10 which is connected to the box via HDMI. So far no problems with any audio format. (AC3, DTS, MP3)
I will check more formats during the coming days. But for now I can say, that this little thing is BY FAR the best Android-TV-Box I have seen and used. There is in fact not much difference to a full blown HTPC (except from a drive like DVD).

M8 how is the picture quality in it? im asking this because its my 1st android TV box that i bought (today it shipped) and so far i had seen a minix x7 mini and the picture was so ugly that we only able to fix it a bit with a playstore program to light up the picture.. but it was a gamma problem from decoder and by reading in this forum i see many people have it and you know if something oversaturates the image or makes it darker then no matter what you do you cannot make it good...

Well... I have used the VU+ plugin on a quite capable HTPC (Intel Haswell Platform) before. You are right, the picture quality with this is a bit "washed out". I think, the quality is better with the Vega especially for HD-TV. Still, you are right, it does (sadly) not fully match the quality of a direct wired VU+-box attached to the TV, but for me it is quite OK.

Jut wondering if this will pass thru DTS-HD and TrueHD to an AVR? Anybody try it?

VU+ addon works great for me without any problem with perfect picture quality. I have a VU Duo2 and also a DM800 and it connects to both fine.

Only problem is the Subtitles... there is a problem to pass them as subtitles to XBMC and you can only see teletext subtitles that come a bit earlier and they are ugly but this is how it is till a solution is found.

Anyone having problems with skins on xbmc with the -h when i download them most of them will download and freeze at 99% and not finish and install.
