The Multi-user feature changed with KitKat. With Jellybean, just adding that line in the build.prop would activate Multi-user.

While there are several tweaks that can be made in system files under KK, it's just as easy to install an app called Xposed Framework. This gives you the ability to load a variety of Xposed Framework modules to change several things on your system. There is an Xposed Framework module available that will turn on the Multi-user feature in a KitKat ROM without having to tweak all of those system files. I've tested it, and it works pretty well...although I have no use for Multi-user, myself.

Be careful with loading other modules, though. Some of them may cause your tablet to freeze or reboot. Those modules have been mentioned in these threads.

Of course I donate! Enjoy your hobby and keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to one of those RK3288 roms...

I did a research, and I thought about Xposed, and found a Multi user feature. But reading its thread in forum.xda-developers, I noticed there are a lot of bugs with it, and the author is missing.

That's why I'm looking for the multi user feature, as native as it could be (without hacking or emulating the feature with any app).

So, I suppose that nobody knows how to activate that feature, because it is very hard, isn't it?

I read some instructions about it, but when I tried to recreate it...the files were all different in the ROM I was working on. That's when I discovered the the Xposed module.

            boot loop

            Hi all,

Sorry for asking for help here, I've just flashed RR3.0 but using the kernel "kernel_M9Pro3_407_cpu1608-low_gpu600_ddr720" fromcshock2010,it flashed without problem but when it reboot, it entered the boot loop that I have no way to get out, I try the suggestion from the RR doc like press the ESC/RESET, etc, but still can't get my PC to recognize my M9 for reflashing.

Does it mean that my M9Pro is doomed, any suggestion of possible way to solving the problem would be greatly appreciated.

            Thanks.

Hey Reno, have you tried using the alternative rom tool - the one in the pack that is also used to flash Pipo ROMs? Where in CHina are you?? I am in China! as well. It is almost certainly OK< you just need to get back to seeing on the PC. The alternative tool can sometimes see when the RK one cannot - then you just see the pink square and click switch - it will change to green. You may still need to try reset/esc/power on button combinations to get it to work. Good luck, don't give up yet!

Can not get any other bootanimations to work with 3.0 RileyRom

                    deleted the original
copy in the new (correct size / format / permissions)
                    system/media
                    Nada
I even tried Rom Tool Box : nope

Any tips for changing the bootanimation.zip?

                    What is the recipe?
I am missing something simple I bet

Instead of deleting the bootanimation.zip, you have to cut and paste it somewhere. Just deleting it leaves the file in place...sort of.

The resolution of the boot animation you are trying to use needs to be the same or smaller than the spec screen resolution of the tablet. You need read/write/execute permissions on the file, too.

I appreciate it Riley..but if I deleted it, how can I cut and paste it somewhere?

                          You can't un-ring that bell...I'm afraid.

I was just explaining what might have caused the problem.

A solution would be to erase IDB and flash the ROM again...and then cut and paste the boot animation file to your SD card. Then copy/paste the desired animation to system/media.

                            Bootanimation

Me thinks you are going to have to flash again and copy paste next time - as Riley says its not going to work if you just delete the old file.
Actually Riley I think your animation is pretty cool. One small change to make it amazing would be adding the release number to Riley Rom or on a separate flip- it is ALWAYS useful to know which ROM you are booting as it boots.
OOPS - sorry Randy - I meant Randy! AND - our posts got crossed in the post! but we are saying the same thing (thank goodness!)

                              Good idea!!!!!!

I will add that in future ROM's.

IDB erasinging and flash the ROM - if someone posted the original (3.0) bootanimation.zip & I did the copy paste back -would that work?
