I did quite a bit of research when I was willing to spend money on my next tablet, which lead me to the pipo m9 pro. Dont get me wrong, im the type that likes to tinker with performance and is totally against apple products so I like my M9pro. But, im still disappointed how certain things doesnt live up to what I thought it would be. For example, the camera. After seeing 5mp (front and back i think from what i can remember now) i was sold to that fact with my camera phone being 5mp taking beatiful pictures. The M9's 5mp camera is, i would say, 3 of 5 from my expectation. From the M9pro being so new at the time, the system didnt run smooth with a lot of things not working right. From this day, my touchscreen is still a bit off to the touch, which is kinda annoying when I notice it.

Overall I love my M9pro and am a fan of android and being able to root things, but with all the issues and failed hopes I had, I wish I wouldve spent a few more $$ on something more 'named brand' per se or have seen something better worth getting to have a better quality tablet.

          Dumb Question with 3.01

Can I just flash 407 kernel ( from the 3.0.1) only? I am on 3.0 and I don't need the exchange fix.

Yes, if that's the only thing you need. The exchange fix is the only other difference.

I know what you mean. The spec is good, but it is very cheaply put together. In particular the GPS performance is terrible. The first M9 Pro I had never ever got a single GPS fix. Indeed, I don't think it even detected a single satellite. The current one is about a tenth as good at GPS as all the other devices I have.

I'd love to know if the P1 is as bad with GPS. I've also some reservations about its charger connection. Charging a battery that big from a 5v 2A source will take a very long time, and assuming it is the same as the M9 Pro it'll be hard to source a second charger.

However, the alternatives are rather expensive: generally about 3 to 4 times the price of a Pipo, with little, if any improvement in the specs.

When you say 'A tenth as good at GPS as your other devices'. Are other tablets included in this, as I would be interested to know what tablet you thought was the best for GPS

                  Hi,

                  I´ve got one question.

I still was on 2.6 from Riley. Working great. There is just one Problem:

The Apps don´t remember saved Data. For example:

Dolphin Browser asks for saving a password, but I can´t use this feature next time on that site. Also when closing the app or rebooting alls open Tabs are closed.

Also with my iControlAV5 App from Pioneer. If I save some settings it is not saved when closing and opening the app or rebooting the tablet.

Savegames or favorits in dolphin are saved.

So I tried flashing Kernel 407 with my rom. because I don´t wanted to reconfigure all my settings.

EDIT: Found the Problem with dolphin. never mind. But the Problem with avcontrol 5 still exists. Also with an older Version.

                  Any Idea on that?

                  Thanks a lot

                      Great Rom!!
I had pipo m9 pro without kitkat and for me, it was good as dead... But now!! I can use xbmc with xbmctorrent!!! and everything works perfectly!

popcorn time does not work, But Xbmc is better( Just less user friendly)

                        Hi,

Do you plan to realse a new ROM with the official kitkat version dated 05/24/2014? It is a chiness version and I don't know if it is possible to put in Engish or French.

That's the same firmware used in this ROM. The filename date is 5/4...it was posted on 5/24.

Hopefully with rk3288 they will make drivers compatible with windows 8.1. My Pipo is the sole reason I have dual boot 7/8.1

                              Bloatware Question 3.01

Hey All , looks like there are some Pipo bloatware right in the 3.1 the system apps : G(HD) and Some G(game client) .
Hard to tell what they are but I do recognized the Chinese characters. Can I delete these puppies with a root uninstaller ..with no major issues...
                              Thanks

Yes, I must have missed that, sorry.

You can remove them from system/app by cut/paste (not delete) to a folder on your SD card with a rooted file manager app like ES File Explorer or X-Plore. You just need to give the app superuser permissions in settings.

If you just delete a file in the system it causes problems. It leaves some hidden files behind. So don't do that.
