considering they have a legal obligation to make GPL'd code public, I would not be very impressed if folks here aided and abetted that infringement. I understand trying to keep the lines of friendly communication open, but some of that copyrighted GPL code in the ROM is mine and all of us are cheated when companies fail to live up to their blatant FOSS responsibilities.

Remaking and repairing our ROMs would be so much eaiser and manufacturer EOL'ing hardware would not be a big deal, if only...

The only solution I know of is to reward to virtous and punish the willing violators. And to strongly vote with our wallets if we want hardware with more than a year of useful support and companies to behave.

Well, I can sit back and be either:

      1. all virtuous and outraged with no code and no use to anyone on the site
      2. an evil GPL-violator that keeps his word and doesn't make public something I was asked not to, whilst helping everyone on the site.

So far I'm sharing the source to my work when the source was public and keeping the source private when asked not to distribute. We are getting a growing number of manufacturers (not Rockchip or AMLogic etc) that see us as trustworthy and are sharing their SDKs with us. This benefits all the users on this site and the companies too. We don't charge for the binaries we create and freely help anyone that asks for hints/tips in our own time.

I have no desire to debate the rights/wrongs of this. Life is a compromise, so is this.

At this point I recommend using the ROM that you've experienced the best performance. Yes, 2.6 with the 407 kernel seems like it.

                  take a look here:

                  quote:
Here is latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat rooted firmware for the PiPO M9 PRO (aka Max-M9pro) tablet based on an update from PiPO dated 2014/05/04.
The fake Linux 3.4.0 version display from previous firmwares has apparently been removed as the Kernel is listed again as 3.0.36.

                              Could anyone help me?

Did you have the check box checked under Settings-Accessibility-AutoRotate Screen?

This rotates all my applications, but my main screens never rotates (which is no big deal for me).

                                Hope that helps some....
