The UI is very smooth, good benchmark scores so I'm guessing that the 2amp power adapter isn't underpowering it. Graphic benchmark apps are also very smooth. I have zero problems with 25fps 1080p videos also.
Strange also is the fact that youtube has a judder too. Is anyone else having these issues? Could others please test the small video I uploaded and report your findings?
Thanks!

Switch off all crappy digital motion compensation.... Marketing bullshit....

I've tested Oman's 1080p@24 mbox settings fix and that works fine - switching the signal to 1080p@24hz. The Tv's also indicate that 'real cinema' has been activated and that motion compensation has been disabled. This shows that the TV is behaving correctly with the signal being input.
I understand that if a switch in the frequency rate cannot be made then jerky playback will occur however ... But by me switching off motion compensation - it hasn't made any change at all.

Still playing around with this rom and it appears that Oman's 1080p24hz setting cures my youtube judders on one video in particular so far that I keep testing. Shame it's not an automatic switch when needed - will this be possible if a modded kernel becomes a reality?
Wow!... just got my test.avi xvid playing smoothly as well! Disabled all accelerators in XBMC apart from libstagefright and enabled 1080p24hz setting.
Good work Oman!!
Edit: (still jerks in 4k movieplayer, MX player and Video Player. )Last edited by dave_999; 15 June 2014, 22:42.

Dailymotion working anyone?
Hi there, first post here and I'm having a S89-H.
Dailymotion hasn't been working since it's first official firmware and even finless 1.6. Anyone having sucess playing Dailymotion app video? Mine opens a blank video with only audio is heard. My Minix 7 used to have this issue but not anymore with their last firmware update.
I find Finless 1.6 video playback was smoother n crisp. Last updated 105K4 wasn't as smooth n looks slightly muddy on my HDTV. Just what I have observed so far.
There were some apps didn't get to install with current 105K4 firmware as well, will the Sign For Ur Apk app works with those incompatible apks?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

One thing I can't do - the Ethernec MAC flash does not work with this ROM (or Finless 1.7, which is based on this) for some reason. Could you have a l,ook please to see why? thankyou for all your hard work! James
Next version,we will fix that.Easy way to catch LOG -> Search 'Syslog' in Google Play, then install it and catch log

Libstagefright on the other hand still uses amlogic's hardware but in a different way. At the time it is the only way to get smooth playback with movies @24fps on this machine.
I don't want to be absolute about this since I have a few movies which will play with no jerkiness with amcodec on in XBMC. But it's a general find right now that XviD avis/mp4s/mkvs will be jerky with amcodec enabled.

@vprasinos
That's some good information and it's really helpful.
...I can't solely rely on libstagefright by itself unfortunately - I still need the adjustment in refresh rate to 24hz otherwise dropped frames remain if the hdmi signal runs constantly at 50/60hz when playing 23.97fps content.
I noticed that there's an option in xbmc for the display frequency to adjust 'on demand'. I think that this is what's ultimately needed but it doesn't appear to work (or maybe doesn't work as 'yet').
Do you think that there is potential for this to work in the future instead of having to manually change the refresh rate depending on what type of video we are playing?
