    <uses-permissionandroid:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK"/>

Whats odd is no other device had this issue without it but for some reason amlogic had to have it when running video with webview. This could be the cause to some apps crashing when video is played because their permissions dont include this permission. I dont know if its a bug but could fix a lot of apps.

maybe btime for some custom roms to hopefully have these changes in them weeeeeeeeeee. finless 20 running very well on these.
The only major issue at the moment is a the video sync issue which seems to be related to resolution and bandwidth.

There also a few minor ones like trouble with ps3 controllers/Bluetooth.
The codecs are in major need of updating also.

Otherwise the firmware is very solid and stable.

Now if i could say the same for my neighbor.

              Using finless 2.0.

As to which xbmc works it varies it depends but spmc seems to be the happiest.

                  The google fork of xbmc.

They are testing to see if google ok with xbmc on google play store to see if google ok with it.
Google goes after people who use certain codecs without payment but xbmc is open-source and free so google likely not to care.

Also upgrades like any other app.

That piece is for apps and would be needed to be added in the apps manifest file when developing an app for amlogic with video. I know some apps using video in webview or video view doesn't have this permission in there manifest so the app natural just crash. I know that most devices don't need this permission so somewhere in amlogics coding this is needed in an app to run video. Don't know why but it does. Now this could be something in my app that's causing this to show but I here that some video apps just crash so this could explain it. I think Oman might need to look and see if that requirement can be taken out so that apps without it would run without crashing when playing video

Could someone please compare Finless 2.0 + SPMC to Stane's AMLinux XBMC firmware in term of smoothness...

I'm willing to migrate from AMLinux to Finless if there will be no problem with choppiness/stuttering when playing xvid in xbmc.

                      Please, someone?

I am running the 109k4 on the new MXIII...do these little boxes have issues sending audio through the HDMI to a digital receiver? I can get it to send sound to the tv but not my receiver

There not a huge difference as far as i can see.

Local playback for the most part works but streaming goes pear shaped with sync and stuttering issues.
Think its part codec/bandwidth and resolution this time.

With plex i get sync issue/stutering at times but can normally fix this by jumping back a bit in the video.

Does it happen on all xvid you got or just certain ones?

Have you selected "hdmi passthrough" from android options?

                                Is 109K4 rooted?

As far as I can see it says it for 108K4 but I can't find info about 109K4: 7.Change method of Root access; --Offered by leolas
A little bit of a late reply maybe, but yes 109k4 is rooted.

But afaik finless worked out the "hard root" method not leolas....
He found out the technique so it doesn't get "broken" when installing some apps or changing a kernel, if your interested?

So if you don't want root you need to edit init.rc from within the boot.img and uninstall su. Maybe not possible to do this from the box though (edit boot.img) I do mods to boot.img on a pc then repack > sign > flash
