How to unhide the "Settings App"? - Want to create a shortcut on the home screen

I know, I can start the app through "mbox settings" or a "long press" on the home screen.
But why is it hidden from the app drawer?
I would like to start it with a simple, single click like always.
I guess it's hidden by the launcher somehow?

This frustrates me too
I normally drag the drawer from the top right hand side of the screen to access settings. Not ideal but.....
This is the same in the other firmwares I've tried from various developers.
Not sure if using a third party launcher (nova or apex maybe) might let you add the setting .apk to home screen?

I have installed Fineless 2.0 again (was running on AMLinux) now i want to use Prime instant video.
does anyone solved the problem with crashing?

My source in China tells me that this is a known fault with this device.

There is most certainly a hdmi flaw although it can be fixed with some re-soldering of the 4 hdmi points.
Certainly not something we should have to do but quicker and less aggravating then trying to rma it.

They talk about it here and how its easily fixed.

Nova has a settings shortcut on one of its home screens, but no icon appears in the app drawer.
Don't know why it's well hidden?
I think, writing a simple app, just to start the settings apk, is much quicker than to investigate further.

Well, at least I've modified the original Settings.apk, so it's now visible in the app-drawer and you can create a shortcut on the home screen.
Works with all launchers and even the stock Launcher3
If somebody is interested, I will upload the apk somewhere.

DOWNLOAD Visible Settings.apk

!! WORKS ONLY ON ROOTED DEVICES!!
ADB must work on your machine.

Extract the .zip file (Don't try to flash it!)
Replace Settings.apk in: /system/priv-app
Chmod 0644 /system/priv-app/Settings.apk

If you don't know how to do it, try to execute the "install.bat" file, included in the download.

Maybe someone can create a flashable.zip (I am too lazy to reboot and test)

I bought this box MX3 a few weeks ago and it come with the firmware 107k4.
Is-it worth to install the 109k4 ?
Mine come with xbmc 14, but in the first page i see that the version 109k4 is with xbmc 13, why this change?

Xbmc 14 is not stable yet, it is only in the alpha phase. Yeah it is worth upgrading.

Yes it is, and they do not really explain what's in it and it also seems older than the 109k4. They are plenty of custom firmwares out there and some install a bunch of stuff you don't need. Oman's firmware is basic and improves functionality and you can manually install anything else according to your your needs.

How to upgrade FW By TF card:
1.Unzip the zip/rar file,and copy 3 files(105k4.zip,recovery.img,factory_update_param. aml) to TF card Root directory;
2.Plug in the TF card and Power line,then pressing the button in the AV hole,then press power button,then release button in the AV hole.
3.OK,it will be into update process.

I've downloaded the 109k4 firmware but unfortunately there is no option to switch on bluetooth anymore? Is this the firmware for the 1G version instead the 2G? Thanks

2G version..... Other users have reported bluetooth issues.
