Yes...same issue no sound going to the receiver through the hdmi

My setup -
hdmi to tv from android box
hdmi from tv to digital receiver

Passthough selected in android + xbmc settings.

Maybe try a different hdmi lead? Or different hdmi input(s) I had problems a while back with my x7 and the HDMI/AVI input on my tv, a software update on my tv finally sorted out my problems.

I am running the 109k4 on the new MXIII...do these little boxes have issues sending audio through the HDMI to a digital receiver? I can get it to send sound to the tv but not my receiver

With 109k4 running on my S89H through my A/C receiver via HDMI, I get Dolby and DTS.

I am having some more issues on the MXIII box and the 109k4. I have some q's, when you install with the card, does it matter if you have other files in the root directory? also on this box where is the "AV Button"? I could not find it so I updated to 109k4 using the update feature in the box.

I just want to make sure my issues have nothing to do with the installation.

Issues:
-The box freezes specially while exploring the play store
-Box freezes while using XBMC (using livestreams and genesis)

The reset button in the av hole just stick a toothpick or like in there and you shall feel the click.

Freezing should not be happening try reflashing.

Thanks, just reflahsed the way posted in the first post. Let's see if that gets rid of the freezing issues.

I have the Vega S89H and I am very pleased with it. I use both SPMC, latest version, and the current nightly build of Kodi
. they both play every thing I throw at it. The only video that struggles a little bit, is streaming live TV in mpeg2 TS format. But only the 720P channels drop frames, and they are not noticeable. I only know they drop frames because I use the diagnostic overlay to see them. The 1080i streams on the other hand have no dropped or skipped frames.

Just my opinion.

The same problem was on 108k4 also.

i just updated to the new version of skype and now i can sign in.

please use and try diferent skypes.a have the same in other droid devices.
you need to download other skype.or the best way is custom skype

A little bit of a late reply maybe, but yes 109k4 is rooted.

But afaik finless worked out the "hard root" method not leolas....
He found out the technique so it doesn't get "broken" when installing some apps or changing a kernel, if your interested?

So if you don't want root you need to edit init.rc from within the boot.img and uninstall su. Maybe not possible to do this from the box though (edit boot.img) I do mods to boot.img on a pc then repack > sign > flash

How to upgrade FW By TF card:
1.Unzip the zip/rar file,and copy 3 files(105k4.zip,recovery.img,factory_update_param. aml) to TF card Root directory;

3.OK,it will be into update process.

Oman .. i have an issue and i tried wverything cant get out of it . I updated an m8 to 109k4 .. its amazing .. but remote dont work ...roundish remote .. then i kept reading and foudn a remote update by justme ...wich made the remote work .. while device is on .. but once u switch off the box u have no way to tuen it back on even from sleep mode .. u have to unplug it and replug it to turn it on ... any ideas?

There not a huge difference as far as i can see.

Local playback for the most part works but streaming goes pear shaped with sync and stuttering issues.
Think its part codec/bandwidth and resolution this time.

With plex i get sync issue/stutering at times but can normally fix this by jumping back a bit in the video.

Does it happen on all xvid you got or just certain ones?

Mostly on all 720p.
There's also sync problem with some SD videos when HW decoding is on. Here's example:

Has anyone experienced random freezings and/or problems with media playback, like youtube app giving an error while trying to play a video or android media process crashing?
