Strange: it says that multi windows is not fluid.
RK3288 should have enough power to manage well multiwindows. I think it's necessary a kernel optimization to improve that.

The worst for me is only 5 hours of video playback with the battery...My m6pro lasted more than this!

      i have it

Ok guys I have my pipo p1 just got it today.

I tell you my firts impressions.

FIRST I,'am not a real tweaker have no experians with flashing and stuff.

Ok my first impressions .... and I have only a yarvik xenta to compare, yeah I'am quit happy.

My findings the sound could be better, but equal to my yarvik.
Ok on the left side upper part it get's a little warm.
Brouwsing o my god its realy fast.
The screen look very fine quic responce I will post later a differance between my yarvik and pipo p1.
Tablet came 50% charged so it was easy to try it out.

The rom ok I'am no expert I found no strange things.
I have not played heavy games so I can not tell anything about that.

For normal use this is a top tablet.

The cam,I only tried for a few minits my wife looks quit red on the cam the skin is a bit over colored a bit red Maybe I have to look into the adjustments.

The apps are realy quick installed compared to my yarvik.
The battery sorry I have to post that later.

      The keyboard is respondig perfectly.
About wifi at the end of my garden I could still play you tube movie perfectly distance about 15 meter 1 Wall between it.

I did one speed test 35 mb I had problem as the normal speedtest I use needs flash and kit kat does not support flash anymore,so I will use a alternative way to instal flash later on.
About flash lot of websites still use flash so I do not understand why is no longer supported.
Ok that is it for now if someone have questions I will try to answher
Weight no problem cor me I always sopport on my legs.
Overall build thinner than my yarvik.
Screen protector very good installed quit invisible I will maye replace it later for HIGH QAILITY screen protector.

      First impresions very good.

Cheers to you all and thanks for all reponce till now.

exactly as it was with my m6pro...
not too loud the speaker. Good position but not enough power...

For a tablet is very heavy. For you is not a problem but generally speaking is quite high.

I have never had problems with touch response, so I think the screen is exactly the same of m6pro: a good screen but now there is something better like IGZO screen.

I don't know why Pipo did not integrate RK3288 with an IGZO screen...

A test with battery duration with the screen ALWAYS on will be very interesting!

          teclast p90hd review please

I know most people are talking about the pipo p1 here but I would love to hear about your teclast p90hd. I am considering getting one since it seems so thin and light and also that screen resolution seems fantastic. Can you give us a quick review?

But on that im getting a pipo p1 just wondering when your going to throw up a rooted rom riley ??

I have been looking over the firmware...and I have one ordered. As soon as I get one to test...there will be a ROM for it.

USE better words, please (you wrote only ONE post here with such SILLY WORDS???).
Read better before judge in such a way! (I just asked for a battery duration test)
                You're very rude.
I'm giving INFORMATION AND SOME COMPARISONS. What are you writing about???? NOTHING

                shame on you.

                that's all.
Buy the P1 and don't read more. You just want to hear that p1 is perfect to have the excuse to buy this tablet.
I've experience on many tablets (17 pipo tablets, kernel modding and 15 year in IT technology).
                You are expert of WHAT?

                  Simmer down guys.

This is just a healthy discussion I started in anticipation of the new RK3288 devices.

Giouncino is a trusted contributor here, and has helped me out with many of our Pipo ROM's, especially the M6 Pro. Many of those custom kernels floating around are Giouncino's creations. He does great work, and I'm going to miss him in Pipo development.

Although he has decided to go to the dark side....hahaha!!!! Jumping to the Cube tablets, I still trust his judgement.

                  I've ordered a P1 for these reasons:

I'm sticking with Pipo products, because that's the niche I've created here on Freaktab as a developer. I've had very good luck with my M5, M8 Pro, M7 Pro, M6 Pro and U8...and I'm looking forward to having a P1 to test. Once I get cooking, offering support for the P8 and any other RK3288 tablets I can support over the next several months.

My friend 900Supersport is the creator of Cube ROM's, and I choose not to duplicate his efforts. Cube is taking a different route with their processors...moving toward MTK. 900Supersport and I are now working on MTK ROM's in addition to Rockchip. Since Pipo is making tablets with both RK3288 and MTK processors, I'm trying to support both platforms. But each has it's own learning curve.

What Giouncino is doing is offering comparisons based on his research. At first it was deciding on what to buy next...and now he seems to be supporting his decision....but he can't be accused of being a troll. Just look at the number of posts he's made. I've learned quite a bit from him.

Thank you Randy for your beautiful words.

What I can do next is to take some picture of the Cube next to the pipo (m6pro but his dimensions ans shapes are EXACTLY the same of P1) to have a REAL external comparison between the two for who is still deciding on which one to buy.

I will do that as soon I will receive my cube (20 days more to wait hopefully)

consideration about the 3 most interesting tablet SoCs

In my opinion, now the 3 most interesting SoC are:

                              RK3288

                              MTK8392

Intel BayTrail-T (mainly Z3735D on chinese tablets)

                              About antutu performances:
                              Antutu test RK3288 MTK8392 Intel Z3735D
                              UX

                              Dalvik 4617 1805 2054
                              CPU
                              Cpu integer 3216 5069 2533
                              CPU float-point 4913 4015 3575

                              RAM operation 2023 3090 1990
                              RAM speed 1834 1132 3266
                              GPU
                              GPU 2D graphics 1602 1415 531
                              GPU 3D graphics 8955 5155 6362
                              IO
                              Storage I/O 1733 1172 1412
                              Database I/O 645 645 615
                              TOTAL 41133 28161 28285

In benchmark RK3288 has massive power with respect to the other two. Intel Baytrail tests have been performed with Jelly bean, then probably with kitkat (now ready for intel tablets) the results of intel platform could improve by an optimistic 5-8%.

In real world all 3 kind of SoC seems to be able to handle Retina display without any issue. Even the weaker GPU (mali 450 of MTK8392) is able to handle retina. So for the other two will be a very easy task.

On Gaming, Intel based GPU are able to perform slightly better than RK3288, but I think that next SW development for the Mali 764 of RK3288 could significantly boost performance and improve gaming compatibility (like the lack of maximum quality setting on asphalt 8 for RK3288 platforms).

In therms of battery duration, Intel based CPU should be the best because of the 22nm building technology, but unfortunately even the good Baytrail, on power saving cannot do anything wrt ARM experience on that...

RK3288 with a Cortex-A17 has a good balance of power saving and pure horsepower, thanks also to its lowest CPU frequency of only 167Mhz (very low and really promising in therms of battery duration for browsing only). The problem is the heat during gaming (due to the GPU power? not clear for me). But as usual heat = power consumption. So there are some issue about this topic...

MTK8392 with Cortex-A7 well known for very low battery consumption is really promising, but has a minimum frequency of 768Mhz (really high!) that could affect battery duration when in idle or low workloads. I think that kernel mods on tablet equipped with this SoC could fix that, without affecting general performance.

So in terms of pure power RK3288 is the best, but not the most stable platform at the moment, but I think that it will be quickly fixed.
In terms of stability, the MTK8392, based on well known Cortex A7 CPU, and on Mali-450GPU, is one of the most stable recent SoC.
In between there is Intel SoC, new player in low cost tablet with an interesting future and Millions of Dollars available to improve SoC for future intel families.

                              Displays:
BayTrail and RK3288 on 9.7" tablets are ALWAYS equipped with retina displays but without IGZO technology. MTK8392 is most of the times equipped with Retina IGZO technology.
IGZO technology is used on Apple iPad air too, it is the most advanced display technology available on the market now: could significantly reduce power requirement and dimension and weight of the tablet.

It's really a pity that IGZO has not been used on RK3288 and on BayTrail tablets...

On next future will be REALLY interesting to see Allwinner A80 CPU...this on the paper has similar performance of RK3288 (because of its quqadcore Cortex A15), with low power requirement (because of additional 4 core Cortex A7), it will be equipped with IGZO display too.

This autumn could be really hot!
