    wrong way

Sorry to say , imidiate step to firmware and stuff as a tablet is not charge is in my opinion the wrong step and a bridge to far.

If you want to try someting .... try to find out if the power adapter is working, just take a simple volt meter and look what the adapter does.
Maybe the adapter is not working, and easy to purchase one in your area.

If you have no meter go and find in your area a electro store who can help you out.

If the battery was real bad the tablet would not work or empty very quickly.
With my background in mind I realy think of a hardware problem the adapter the power entry plug on the tablet or a bad wire connection inside the tablet, maybe in the hurry battery was not mounted correctly.

So my advise check the adapter first.
Further this is a new tablet so claim it if needed.

And a critical note : ok your tablet is not working as it should be its brand new ok this can happen so give the seller or factory the chance to help you to fix it or give refund ...before you think about the agressive way of approche.
Better for yourself too, however I can understand your problem.

To avoid this I paid a little more .....and both it in a shop nearbye so if someting like this occurs I know there is proffesional help nearbye.

Hope for you it will be solved soon.

      Thanks for sharing your experience.
That firmware is not the latest, but the only one so long. You should have the same already on your tablet.

Yea they just need to send me a new tablet..I didn't buy the thing to fix it. And I am a very patient person and have been nothing but nice to them but if I posted all their lame responses you would understand why I am now starting to lose my patience. They keep repeating themselves and just when I think I may get a refund or a fix they start all over with the EXACT same responses. I would be willing to try the charge at an electronic store to see but like I said the tablet shows that its charging when its plugged into the charger it just doesn't actually charge...at all.

I do appreciate all the help though!

Yup I would agree..after comparing some numbers on the current software I do not think the firmware update is an update and I also don't think we can update because the drivers dont want to work for RK3288. I noticed this by downloading the RLBATCH tool the driver file thats included is RK30...not RK32.

I also didnt spend $200+ to beta test for Pipo or Ainol-Novo. They should have no problem sending me a new tablet but for some reason they are really fighting me on it and I contacted them within 24 hours of receiving the tablet sooooo yea.

            They have a return policy.
It doesn't mention sending of a new device in place of a defective one right away, but as Randy mentioned above, you should send it back to them first. They will return the money or send you a new one then.

10-4 good buddy! I have been talking them on the daily for over a week now...about 2-3 emails per day and I'm emailing them from 2 different accounts so they are getting double emails. I am being nothing but nice to them as I am not a jerky type person. The last time they advised if the new charger (which I bought outa pocket) didn't work I would get a new tablet. When I told them charger doesn't work and unable to update firmware the response was "maybe it needs finished firmware"...thats what I mean by circles. They are trying to fix the problem but really they are now just repeating themselves when as a company with more $$ than me they should easily remedy the situation. I will be sending the tablet back regardless. I'm not trying to get my money back and keep the tablet at all. Once I make the PayPal claim the tablet will be on its way back with tracking info. I will lose about another $30 on shipping as well.

Now that you said this I am thinking it may be the battery..the tablet will stay on as long as its plugged into the wall so that should tell me that its the tablet and not the charger??

                  Which charger are you using?
I'm (me: jlunse) using the the supplied one and also I tested an external extra battery (power pack) and both charges for me: http://www.lohelectronics.se/powerba...ah-p-1026.html (sorry it's in Swedish text).

                  I'm just trying to understand.
You should probably send it back.

Well the charger that came with it is the 9V 2.5A 2.5mmx0.8mm one..its the Pipo branded charger that came in the little box. I bought a 5v 2.5a after reading other reviews about other Pipo tablets and used it with my Powergen dual usb wall charger and the tablet wouldn't even acknowledge it. When I plug the tablet into the stock Pipo charger you think its charging..its shows the battery and says charging but after watching it for awhile you notice that its not charging. If you check out youtube just search "Pipo P1 charging problem" That guys had the EXACT same problem as me and after chatting with him today he advised he ended up sending his back for a refund. He bought his from TinyDeal so I dont blame the seller it just sounds like luck of the draw for me and him.

It is best practices to not exceed the standard charger as this is usually what the whole setup will have been tested around and higher levels may have unexpected issues.

If it's toast unfortunately thats not my fault since I used the charger Pipo provided it's the charger that came in the box so it's defective then. :-( I'm just waiting for yet another reply from Ainol-Novo. This time I just flat out said please provide RMA and address to mail back. According to their return policy if it's defective right out of the box then they will take back and issue full refund. Now I'm just waiting for them to make good on their word.

Also don't know why I couldn't get firmware to take with the rkbatch tool. I have tried just about every way possible and receive nothing but TEST DEVICE FAIL.

Thanks for giving me a half baked device Pipo.

This could happen with every device, but with a very new tablet + chinese, the probabiliy to have problems increase a lot!

If you don't want to struggle with anything I suggest you to go for a more consolidated product, even a chinese one but more mature than a "just on the market" as the P1 is!

With Pipo m6pro I struggled for MONTHS!
Something NEVER reached a solution (like the lack of deep sleep, and bad wireless reception), but others worked (stability issues).

Are you using the correct, most likely new rkbatch tool that supports the 3288 SOC? Also does it at least show as "Found" ? But I would move forward and definitely get that RMA and get one that works out of the Box. Best of luck man... Hope this is not a repeat pattern of pipo with continuous fixed to the P1 PCB's...

Thanks man. As far as I know yes it the newest RKBATCH tool 1.7 I believe and it recognized the firmware and all. I would click the switch button and the square would go from pink to green just when I clicked update is when it would mess up.

Finally got a response from Ainol-Novo advising me to send it back. Whats weird now is that they sent it to me via DHL which had tracking but they want me to send it back using EMS. They say no USPS but I think its starts stateside with USPS and goes EMS once out of the US...anyone know for sure?

                                Delivery problems

This is my first post here as an new member, but are reading the topics over here for weeks now...

I have an Pipo M6 pro and are happy with it. Thank you Riley for the custom ROMS

So i ordered a Pipo P1 last week. The status of the order was not changing in several days.
I emailed the guys with the question, when will the tablet be shipped?

The answer i got, concerned me a little bit, and i wanted to share it with you guys....

",the factory have not adjusted the 3288 chipset firmware to a perfect condition yet, so this was why they postphoned the release date again, and we were inform today the date will be at the beginning of August"

Maybe there are more problems with the new chipset? Or demand is bigger than supply? I dont know....
