I'm having range issues on wifi that I did not have with the alpha.

I use the stock browser as an alternative to Dolphin or Boat when they won't load a page.

Also, I know that performance is paramount, but my battery drains down like nobody's business. A 1 hour video playback takes the battery down to 40%. I am happy with the overall performance though, so I'm keeping the charger handy.

That would be great snakekiller if you could do that please I would prefer for it to be system app rather then user for some reason witch I don't quite know

ok the stock browser is removed an when i say facebook in search i go too the webpages so it works for me.
but for other people i don't now?

Open the battery stats and see what is taking it down. Are you sure battery drain is not the same as stock?

As for wifi, I dunno... you seem to be one that seems to have a problem with that no matter what ROM you are on. Based on what I know, no firmware is going to fix range issues. It has to do with how your antennea is mounted in your tablet. Maybe take the back off and see if you can move it.

Android Assistant says System UI is using 49.62% of battery. Browser,Tap-a-talk, wifi fixer, go launcher, and a few others show less than 5% each. Is there another place to look for better stats?

As far as wifi goes, i assure you that i have a habit of understating my trouble shooting efforts. Comparing behavior of each of the G3 ROM's next to my G2 running your G2 2.1a, and taking notes about each, I found an improvement with wifi stability with the alpha rom over the last arnova kernel rom. It was actually more stable than the G2.

After flashing this latest rom, i find that it keeps an ip connection more reliably, however unless im in the same room with the router, the browser gets stuck on a white screen. I did not change the scan time to see, but im suspecting it is really doing what it did before, it still thinks it is connected until the 150 seconds is up.

I will report back after i edit build.prop.

So what is the final desire for this ROM? Whats in, whats out?

We cant make it better without YOUR feedback.

Ok, I edited the build.prop with the suggestions above (way above). Im getting better signal now but it drops out frequently.

Now, about that System UI burning so much battery......?

Settings/Battery just says battery usage data not available.

I will be as honest here as possible. This is based on what I know today. Nothing firmware wise is going to change battery life while the system is alive and the screen is powered. All battery savings are tweaks and stuff for when it is asleep or in standby PERIOD!

I bet you a dollar if you flash the stock ROM or any ROM so far, and watch that same video, your battery will be the same level. The #1 eater of battery while awake and on, is the screen! Brightness of the screen can DRASTICALLY change how much battery is used.

So don't expect a ROM to change something like this. Again this is based on what I know today. I could be wrong (I doubt it) but I think your testing has not been the same from ROM to ROM (e.g did you watch a full video like this on any other ROM?). So no offense.... But if you really want to do 100% testing and prove a difference... watch the same video fully on every ROM. If you get a large delta, then we can look into it.

Forget about the battery.

set your brightness too 55 % insteed of let us say 75 %
and its change alot in battery life
