Main Menu Icon "XBMC" doesn't work right after update

    Hello,

i have got my new Beelink R89 and i'm very happy about it. I use 110k... Version as Original. When i startet xbmc from the desktop, it told me to update the 14 alpha version. So i downloaded the newest beta from the web, deinstalled the old app and installed the new one.
Now i need some help from experienced users here.

    1)
From now after reboot the big icon xbmc on the desktop has no more function and i have to start with another icon i added to favorites.
How can i get the big icon working in the upper middle?

    2)
Fast fowarding in movies crashes the app to desktop when streaming with gigabit in smb mode.

    3)
Is it possible to get a QWERTZ - German keyboard version in xmbc, perhaps with äöü?

    4)
I have the same micro-freezes as bloodgnome described them some postst before.

I'm new in this materie and i would be happy if i could get some help.

    Greetings

    Michael

      1) I think maybe because at the past the name (directory) was xxx.xbmc.yyy and now xxx.kodi.yyy so the launcher isn't able to find the application (but not sure about this, because I don't use this launcher and not sure about the old name before the update)

about 2-3) sorry no idea because use english also qwerty

and 4) micro-freezes maybe because of the update? Or also before the update?

Looks like the auto frame rate switcher script from minix forum has been modded and tested on rk3288. Read 3rd post here https://www.minixforum.com/threads/a...bmc.601/page-7

PS I'm out of town and can't test this script until Monday. If someone could test it and post results that would be great.

If someone want's to test it, you have to take this

but I don't know if it will also work at rk3288 because I can't identity if he talk about JB or the 'KK' port at rk3188 ore a 'real' KK at rk3288...
            Code:
            v1.3.5
              root check fix
            v1.3.4
              permissions fix (ty enen92)
            v1.3.3
ro.product.name has to identify 720p or 1080p kernel.
              on 720p kernel 24hz works as 1080p24Hz
            EDIT
He use the correct path '/sys/class/display/display0.HDMI/mode' BUT instead of removing this stupid device check (like the guy at the amlogic sub-forum had done) he only replaced the MINIX with 'SAMSUNG rk3188'

He posted this.....`Already confirmed that this addon can work in a rockchip based box, I know is a bit offtopic. But this addon should be divulged also in a generic android/xbmc forum` that was on Nov 7 so I assume 3288 kk . I have no box to test it on right now cause I'm not at home. test it bro.

No, not really OT, but because of this http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post237918 (only gives 50/60 Hz but not the also supported 24/25/30 (maybe an issues at the EDID(-protocol)?)) I didn't have a deeper look at it, because at this situation at my environment for me it's senseless and I cannot test it...

See my EDIT and you will find out it couldn't work at our devices...

                BTW: rk3188 isn't rk3288

Yes, but have the same 'fps missing problem' (24/25/30) at it running the fake KK (seems to be rockchip related but I'm not sure if I also only had have 50/60 at JB)
I think my SAT receiver isn't interesting in EDID and I have no idea how Amlogic handle it...

Here you can find the 'cleaned' version http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...r-Amlogic-S802
If I remember correctly you only have to replace
                      Code:
                      /sys/class/display/mode
                      with
                      Code:
                      /sys/class/display/display0.HDMI/mode
                      at the 'fswitch_util.py'
and to be sure that at '/sys/class/display/display0.HDMI/mode' exists the correct rights (-rw-rw-rw-) which I think exists by default....

Won't work on Finless ROM, since it spoofs device as Google Manta and not Rockchip rk3288 device.
You can edit your build.prop file or install another ROM.
