I don't even have an hph box. I cracked the password by watching an unboxing of an hph v6 on youtube. first letter must be capitalized

If you want to use 2GB or 8GB parameter file, you have to download it separately under the v1.2 ROM link.
Using the Firefly ROM and replacing it with my system.img will also not work, since my system.img is bigger in size and will overwrite the other partitions.
You have to flash the Firefly Images with my system.img and my parameter.img(the default one) but will loose linux support. If using my ROM you will have to flash boot.img,kernel.img and resource.img from Firefly ROM to get all the connectors, VGA etc working.
To just use my system.img, you need to increase the system partition in the parameter file to 800MB of Firefly ROM, then it will work.

Upload your Firefly parameter file, then I will edit it for you to work with my system.img.

I'm working on a linux dual-boot firmware for RK3288 that will work nice.
Thanks Mo, I got the system.img working fine with the 4Gb parameter file injected in the original rom! So excited to see your fireworks on my tv, thanks!

Why do i need frequency switcher? I understand what it does (It currently supports switching manually (via mapped key) or automatically between refresh rates for these resolutions but why do i need to care about that? I can watch videos with 24/50hz even though my tv is connected on 1920x1080 60p, so whats the addon is all about?

sorry if this is a dumb question

                          thanks

I'm with you, I also have no problem to watching e.g. 24fps at 60Hz but someone means, e.g. at that moment the camera goes from left to right really fast (I don't know how to say in English) to see micro-stutters (if I look for them sometimes I can also recognise them but normally not) and the same means it fixes if the output is at 24FSP...
But the mouse-pointer stutters at 24Hz so they prefer to switch during the movie and back to 60 after the movie (automatically)...
                            That's the idea.

For me watching a movie with this tearing, beacuse of the wrong framerate to the output device is a horror. It gets noticed where it shouldn't and in case you have a display or beamer with smooth-tech it ruins it all.
If you have high quality audio and display system you want a nice smooth movie playing.
And I prefer XBMC instead of the commercial dumb players. So yes I love to see the frame-switching.
